  • I hope to have her facility and joy when I'm her age, that is the highest passe I've ever seen!

  • Omg I love Russian ballerinas:) so beautiful!!! The real art of ballet-3

  • Really too bad that she, Maximova & Bessmertnova died rather young. We are accustomed to having many great ballerinas stay with us into their '90s.

  • Sorry, I gather it was Lavrovsky dancing, not Sorokina's husband. Whoever he is, he doesn't look well, imho. I very much enjoyed the video.

  • @moushka26 You are right! I think he had a bad make-up day! :-)

  • Oh, really? Sorry, I missed your comment. But, actually, I saw the performance at real time. Initially, Maximova and Vasiliev were expected to perform, but they could not come to Japan and, instead, Lavrovsky and Sorokina performed DQ and Lavrovsky and Semenyaka performed Giselle in full length.

  • Born when? Perhaps 1942?

  • @palubob I typed wrong. I wrote 1962 and it is 1942. i will change my description to change 1962 to 1942.

  • This perfomance was filmed in 1980 Japan tour.

  • @ujikanayo If you had read my description, your comment was already mentioned in my description.

  • "He was in poor health and was forced to dance for television against his wishes, so it would be a crime to show one of the greatest dancers ever, dancing when he is very sick.." He...was "forced"?!!! How terrible. Vladimov's face certainly looks as though he's suffering in the video. Thank you for posting this piece of history.
