Still... it doesn't really matter. If he was he was if he wasn't he wasn't. There's evidence pointing both ways in several different books, including Anthology. No one living could tell us either way.

The assertion that John was gay was made by Albert Goldman in his book " The Lives Of John Lennon ". Goldman was himself gay , and he made it a point to include the possibility of homosexuality in most of the biographies he wrote . He said similar things about Elvis and Lenny Bruce as well . Since he was a gay writer promoting a gay agenda , one can only conjecture as to his sincerity and impartiality . Personally , I find his accusation of John to be ludicrous .

But there's plenty of evidence to suggest he also, on some level, was interested in men. The truth died with John, so we'll never really know but you can't know "for sure" either, so don't act like you do. But I do have to agree about John & Paul. Platonic/familial love & affection. The thing is, during the time the above video was filmed, Brian Epstein was trying to make them marketable since the world didn't know their talent yet. So: no smoking on stage or around fans, get nice clothes, no crude language on stage or around press, etc.

After Beatlemania died down and people saw them as the artists they were instead of a teen pop band, they could be a little more relaxed. It was a good thing for them, being able to grow their hair or a beard if they wanted or whatever.
