@ogrecharger Thanks for the post. People pronounce crappie three different ways. It all depends on what region they live in. People in N.C. call it crap-ie.
Interesting. Sure is pretty and probably influences the fish's beautiful dark colors, too. Right now, all our lakes and rivers have a lovely mocha (flooded) color.
No problem, just take a few lures (crank baits, buzz baits, and beetle spins of your choice and go fishing. Try reeling the crank baits slow a few retrieves and fast on other retrieves. Let the fish tell you what they want. Fishing changes everyday, meaning the fish may want a slower presentation like a plastic worm one day and a buzz bait the next. I wish you the best of luck!
I catch a lot of bass using black buzz baits early in the morning or late in the day. If possible always use a trailer hook. This will increase your catches.
Shallow running crank baits fishing around trees, lily pads, or any cover in the water works best. Chartreuse is my favorite color used just like the one in this video and my other video how to "Foul hook bass and lose a 5lbs fish". I have caught my biggest fish from shore. Good luck and good fishing!
The best time to catch crappie from shore will be from February, March, and maybe early April. This is the time of the year where the crappies move shallow to spawn. I recommend fishing with minnows. Crappie jigs are also good baits, but live bait is at least from my experience is the best method to catch big slabs.
Bait is the key, but location is just as important. Try fishing around shallow stumps, rocks, brush piles, boat docks from shore. Good luck and CATCH A BIG ONE!
The weather has just gotten a bit colder due to rain so I am going to try and hit it up this weekend. I will post a video of pictures showing any fish caught.

Look at 4:00; you can read that it says OZ to the right of the 5
JUST SAYIN that there aren't 10 ounces in a pound so a 1 pound 5 ounce bass wouldn't be a 1.5 pound bass.

i would never let that white perch (crappie) go or the bass
king2796 2 years ago
It really bugs me when people call it crap-ie. it sounds so disrespectful to the fish. You don't hear anyone calling bass "b-ace".

I recommend at least a 5.5-foot rod. This will allow you to fish with corks or light tackle.

Pretty fish. The water was "tea" color, very cool. Were there cypresses or willows making it that color?
Winkiedoodles 3 years ago
I'm not for sure what's making the water this color. But it seems all the Central Florida lakes and rivers have this same coloration.
