  • That piece is beautiful...and looks difficult to make :(

  • very lovely!

  • very nice. reminds me of autumn can't wait to learn that ^_^ ! ! ! ! !

  • love it, love it, love it!! Thank you for sharing it with us.

  • Finished and pleased. Thanks. Do more please.

  • I have watched this video many times and still not sure if the stitches shown have to be repeated over and over to get the completed scarf much like you see on the video. would like to know

  • @37crazywoman HELLO!! Click the tab at the top of my channel that says "PLAYLISTS". On the right you will now see Brooke's Column of Leaves scarf so click that and you will see all the videos for making the scarf.

I do encourage you to get the written pattern as well. You can get that by simply Googling "Brooke's column of leaves". Scroll down and you'll see the pattern on Brooke's site.

  • oh my god you are gorgeous. but i'm just learning the basic knitting so it's sound hard for me. can you do another video of Column of Leaves Scarf but from the beginning till the end? i really don't know how to do the middle thing and how to do it backwards. so help me please please please >.<

  • @blackrose4854

yeh it will ne great (this kind of vid. ) coze for a begginer it is hard sometimes to understand when the vid shows the way of knitting from the middle already ...

  • Nice job! I don't believe in being intimidated by a knitting project - I have learned most of my skills by biting off a little more than I can chew and sticking with it Are you on Ravelry?.

  • @bast713 Hello. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Did you find the whole playlist of this pattern too? This is the link - youtube.com/user/MarleneD1216#grid/user/52E4C225A3CF8365

    I'm on Ravelry as DetroitKnitter

  • greatt ! could you make me a video response of what B & T loosely is?? please!!

  • @Catriona123100 Ok, that link didn't work. There is a video on YouTube; it's not mine, but I'm sure you want an answer sooner rather than wait for me to do a video :) It's a rather simple procedure, even though the video has a lot of arms and hands in the way, I think you'll get the idea. youtube.com/user/nursenoonoo

  • that looks horribly difficult

  • i just found out....knitting is not my thing!

  • Column of leaves knit pattern, perchance? ^.^

  • @zeppelinchik You can find the column at brookenelson[DOTCOM]/leafscarfpattern.html (replace DOTCOM with the real thing in your address bar.

Or just Google Brookes Column of Leaves pattern

  • hahahahaha! I thought someone was typing really really fast...LOLOLOL.

  • @museofink me too!

  • what the heck is that noise in the background? that's just wierd. I love the scarf by the way.

  • @museofink LOL! In over 440 thousand views you are the first person to ask that! Apparently I had auto focus running so the lens kept re-focusing with movement. It was my first video shot specifically to help out just one person; if I'd known it would turn out so popular I would have re-done it. :)

BTW, the videos in the playlist do not have that awful clicking sound. :)

  • @museofink its the camera! haha

  • @museofink It's the sound of a vibrator. Buzzzzzz Buzzzzzzz Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • Where is the beginning?

  • @TessaAnnWatte You will find all the videos in one playlist. On my channel you will see a link at the top called playlists; click that then look on the right for the Column of Leaves Playlist. Click on it and you should see all the videos. I'd post the link, but YouTube won't let me do that in the comment box. Anyway, hope that helped you find it.

  • Wow, this is a suprisingly elegant looking scarf. Also, you are brave to knit lace without a lifeline. :)

  • @Nicky35747 Oh no, not that brave! I show how to use a lifeline in video 8!! :)

  • how u do the middle with holes

  • @SuperFirefox86 The middle holes is lace knitting. It's basically just doing yarn overs mixed with knits and purls. You can watch each row here....

Go to my channel youtube(dotcom)/user/MarleneD1216 and click on the PLAYLIST link at the top of the window. Here I have videos of the stitches of every row.

And you can get the written pattern here: brookenelson(dotcom)/leafscarfpattern - you'll have to substitute the "dotcom" with ".com" in your browser :)

  • Wow, that is byooootiful!

  • Esta seria uma boa idéia. Eu realmente deveria ter transcrições dos meus vídeos, então qualquer um pode traduzi-las usando o tradutor do Google. Obrigado pela sugestão. Isso pode demorar um pouco para fazer.

    ~Marlene

  • gostaria dos vidios traduzidos em portugues

  • kamakshimahendru- That's great that your scarf turned out so wonderful! I am not the author of the pattern though and made the scarf videos just because. As far as I know there isn't a video for *that* hat, but I'll bet there are some hat making videos that you can apply this pattern to.

  • On my Youtube page you will see a link for "playlists" click on that and you will see a link for "Brooke's Column of Leaves Scarf" I sometimes abbreviate the videos within the playlist as BCL.

  • I made an scarf knitting only four rows of the leaves strich and it looks great. Thank you and greetings from Ecuador.

  • omg that is so beautifull! but how do i knit the middle :( can't u make a whole video of how to knit the whole row?

Thanks for all the videos! Something tells me that I'm going to be re-visiting them often...

  • It's so pretty. :)Thanks for sharing!

  • WOW! i just started working on the column of leaves scarf last night. i needed to see how to do the stitches you demonstrated in this video. it's so great to find someone that has actually made the scarf. before all i could find was bits and pieces of how to do it. you're wonderful. thank you ^_^

  • helloe there i just wan't to ask if where i can find a pattern of this beautiful scarf you have? please i really love to learn.. thanks

  • You can find the free pattern at brookenelson . com. I also have an entire playlist devoted to this scarf where I knit it each row of the pattern. It's best to start with Row 1 then 2 since I do the "odd" stitches slower at the beginning of the pattern. Enjoy!

  • thank you!!!

i kind of realised after!! hehe

its impossible though, im really not getting it

i managed the 1st 8 rows, then i had 4 stitches left over at the end???

    so i gave up

  • she has it go to her pro

  • Don't let folks dissuade you newbies from learning Marlene's superfast left-handed Continental style. Aran and lace patterns are 100X simpler her way. Those complex looking raised leaf patterns are just increases and decreases, with occasional yarn over or slip stitch here or there~ ULTRA EASY. Tip: Tracking which line of the instructions you're working is the hardest part; don't lose your place. Leisure Arts' "60 EASY-To-Knit Pattern Stitches...Create Sampler Afghans" $7. THANK YOU MARLENE!
