i am 10 years old and i went on the g force epocalypse and the shockwave

i haven't ridden hurricane condor but ive ridden apocalypse and its 180 ft not 100 ft and on the stand up cars they are tilted and you're pushed down not jjust dropped. being pushed is wayy more forceful.

@MrLyneJonas: Yes Hurricane Condor is higher, but it's forceless. You get 'float time' on Hurricane Condor, while on Apocalypse it feels much more forceful as it pushes you to the ground. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

i beg to differ but drayton manor is better, i've never been to alton towers but from what i've seen alton towers isnt very family friendly and the rides always break down, AND it was voted as britains WORST day out. so yeah, drayton manor gets my vote.

i went there for a school trip on the 13th july 09

and i went on all the rides they are awsome, apocolypse is cool but the feeling coming down is weaird and i went in the zoo i saw they monkey lynx and owls but barley any animal was out . went into the reptail bit and i saw the snakes and i saw the huge turtle and when looked at the small turtles 1 was mating and it jiggled then stopped opened it mouth really wide then carryed on it was funny as hell.

Why do people insist on comparing Alton Towers to Drayton Manor? Alton Towers is owned by one of the largest theme park companies in the world, and Drayton Manor is a family owned/run park. Clearly Alton Towers has much more money thrown at it, so it's unfair to make the comparison. If you must compare Drayton, you need to compare it to another UK family run/owned park such as Lightwater Valley.

You probably would. I found Apocalypse just as good as Maelstrom, but if you hate getting a "sinking" feeling when you fall in your stomach then don't go on it. G Force is great - Totally safe. I put my hands up all the way around and didn't slip. Shockwave is good as well: Very fun to ride. =)

Hey (it's me in the video) - I have been on Tidal Wave at Thorpe Park many times and you don't get anywhere near as wet as you do on Stormforce 10 on the back row. Don't get me wrong - sit at the front and Tidal Wave is wetter, sit at the back of Stormforce 10 and you may aswell jump in the lake! The only thing that comes close that I've riden is Hydro at Oakwood Park!

Well firstly yes standup is scarier then sit down , as you tilt at a 45 degree angle, its alot faster due to it being a hevier carrage.

But i would say stand up floorless is scarier, but you cant feal your legs, cause it cvuts off the blood circulation.

1: No-one has died on Shockwave, in fact there has never been a single accident at the park.

2: The park doesn't suck, in comparison to larger parks it may not be as good but this park is far from poor. In fact; Alton Towers is inferior to parks like Busch Gardens and PortAventura.

3: Alton Towers isn't owned by Tussauds, same with Thorpe and Chessington. They're owned by Merlin.

In my opinion yes. Don't get me wrong Hurricane Condor is a great ride - and the height itself makes it brilliant. But once it starts to drop it's really just 'float time' that you get. Apocalypse may be half the height, but it feels so much more forecful than HC. You'll see what I mean after you've ridden both. Let me know if you agree.

You can't really compare the 2 parks. Alton Towers is owned by Merlin, one of the biggest players in the theme park industry. Drayton Manor is still privately owned so for a privately owned park they're doing very well!
