  • this was the mother of all elbows, bure was the shit!

  • hey takushi, if you're so tough, why don't you ask Pavel to drop 'em with you right now? He could light you up without breaking a sweat. This was one of the greatest moments in Pavel's career because he showed idiots like Churla and all the other goons who tried to take him out of the game that he was tougher than them. He could beat anyone on the scoreboard, on the ice and in the alley. I miss players like him. The league is worse off without Pavel and players like him. Churla deserved it

  • IF Bure had a problem with Churla he should of fought him like a man, drop the gloves and go at it you Russian pussy boy. Hockey is a MAN'S game maybe you should of played sissy ass soccer if you can't take a hit pussy boy

  • hey man at least he wasnt a little bitch like the sedins... Bures a beauty man

  • @takushi98 Yeah, because the Stars certainly weren't being bitches by cheap shotting him all over the ice. If they had such a problem with him, they should have fought him like a man.

  • @TerryMan2003 Only problem with that logic is that the Russian players are suck pussies they'd never actually drop the gloves and fight like men, instead they pull shit like this. What a disgrace to the NHL the Russians and Euro players were. Russian player=girlyman pussy ass bitch

  • That really does explain a lot. In understanding Bure more than what you thought you knew....and sorta how hockey works in some ways.

  • Who wouldn't want a guy like Gino as your personal bodyguard on the ice?

  • Churla is an absolute idiot, he had it coming to him. He was throwing elbows and hurting canucks players through the whole game.

  • Gino will always be remembered as a great team player. Except that night at Kits Pub. Pavel was so juiced. He never could handle his liquor. Good times. Hows the handi cap comin Gino?

  • @westcoastubrew .... need more info! Bure lived on SW Marine drive I thought... what were they doing at Kits?

  • i love that elbow, churla hacked and hooked bure to much that series and bure had enough. and the comments don cherry made about bure made me hate don cherry.

  • Churla was a no talent goon.

  • lol this is hilarious... people hatin' on bure when churla got what he deserved.

  • bure is the most tallented canuck ever, odjick was the toughest.

  • @MrSteelheadfisherman Gino was very tough...but I'd have to say that Dave Richter was the toughest Canuck. Unfortunately, he was with Nucks when they sucked ass and were low profile. I cannot remember a fight he lost. He did VERY well against Probert and other heavy hitters. Too bad that he was here only a short time. Look up his fights on YT

  • this shows how good of a character Bure was, and he deserves to have his jersey raised , too bad the Canucks wont admit that they're wrong

  • "Mother of all elbows" I wish the Canucks would get rid of the uni's they have now and bring back the style they had before

  • I'd like to play a few dirty plays on her! :)

  • churla should get 2 minutes for diving

  • Bure did what he had to do. He had to put up with countless cheap shots from everybody around the NHL. It's not uncommon, but I feel like he had it the worst. And his career ended too early for my liking.

  • Churla is a bitch. He drops respect for a superstar and runs after Bure? WTF did he think was going to happen? Hold hands and roll down a hill giggling like a girl? Run at ANY superstar and you will get your head knocked off. Like Moore.

  • sweet video. good to see a players take on the whole thing.

  • if Bure had had a great center (and i'm a canucks fan, but ronning, fergus, and Adams don't apply) he would have been the greatest goalscorer of all time - not to mention he was a tough mother **cker. (ask Churla.LOL)

  • fuck churla, like oehieze says, did anyone watch the fucking game, churla is a dirty piece of shit, bure told odjick and lumme to fuck off, and he handled his business just like, Russian nobility, connected to the mafia, should...HIMSELF WITH HIS OWN HANDS.

  • I still see Gino every now and again at Musqueam Golf course in Vancouver...he's a partner there..

  • Gino and Pavel were sure the odd-couple on the ice

  • Yep...I was surprised when I first heard about it years and years ago...

  • @cgasucks Great stuff. Glad he is 'in the loop'

  • @BugsMeaney wtf do u have against linden

  • @BugsMeaney No talent. Lets see, mister knowit all critic. NO talent.

Never played oraganized hockey until age 17. SEVENTEEN. Drafted by Vancouver in 1990. Age 19. 1990-91 he played 52 games and scored 19 points. How much t.o.i per game do you think he got? 93-94 he scores 16 goals and ends up with 29 points. You are kind of stupid, in ligh tof your post here

  • bure and gino...the odd couple. those are the glory years for canuck fans like me. good video

  • did anyone thing bure just out of nowhere decided to go after SHANE CHURLA? did anyone see half the shit he had to fight through? sucks to be churla and no I"m not a canucks fan.. I actually hate the team, but fair is fair

  • If you had watched what happened earlier in that game, what Bure did to Churla was deserved, the Stars were cheap shotting Bure all over the place, I would agree fair is fair.

  • yes, i did watch the whole game, its called hockey, back then it was a lot chippier then todays game and what happened to Bure in this game was common for most stars. The FAIR thing for him to do was to fight him, like most hockey players would do. He knew if he dropped the gloves with Churla he would have lost, so I guess the ONLY fair thing to do was to knock the guy out when he wasn't looking.

  • @tjackson76 I don't condone cheap shots. Your quote, "It's called hockey" goes both ways. I never played near that level in hockey but being an elite level athlete in another sport when I played at whatever low level hockey game I played in, I was always and I mean always the fastest guy on the rink. I know what its like to be cheap shoted repeatedly with no penalty calls. continued...

  • @fastj1962 If some big dude who can fight cheap shots me all game, why would the fair thing for me to do be go fight him and get my ass kicked? Example, I'm going to the bench and a guy on the other team skates at me and goes knee to knee with me behind the play. This gould not only ruin my career but my life. I gotta tell you, next time I'm on the ice, that guy gets no respect and doesn't deserve a face to face lets handle this like men experience. He's going to get hurt though, I promise.

  • @fastj1962 This stuff happens at all levels. The game of hockey has all sorts of reprocussions for dirty play. Bure showed one type. I love watching comments from people talking trash on Bure based on this one instance. Watch any number of his highlight videos and you will see him scoring through "Hack" after "Hack" by big mothers who can hit. None of his critics on a youtube video could carry his jock let alone take the punishment he took.

  • @fastj1962

    Amen to that!

  • @fastj1962

I Really hate dirty play behind the scenes. The only team I liked who didn't do that was san jose sharks, but because of it, they were run out of town during the playoffs. I like clean hockey.

  • @rossmillsap Referees seldom EVER give Vancouver a fair shake. MAN I miss Gino

  • @rossmillsap Yeah but Bure should've made it more of a straight check I mean an elbow like that can put a guy in a wheelchair and no one deserves that especially while playin' sum puck...Summa summarum all Russians should be fucking hanged. Except for Dostoyevski. But he's long dead now anyway, ha ha.
