I was thinking today about the small enclosures that these animals have at OKC zoo... don't get me wrong I'm all for zoo's that help preserve animals and take great care of them...but I remembered the orangutan's very small room...I don't have a set opinion about the zoo yet. I would like to hear other's opinions and information. Thanks :)

It wants the baby because they are small prey which is usually what they want to go after in the wild because its easier to take down, and they are all about conserving strength and easy meals if they can get them.

I know everyone thinks this video is cute, and the lioness is very beautiful, but I find it sort of sad. Everyone is ooing and awing at her but she belongs in the wild, or at least on a reserve where she has room to roam and be free. These lovely creatures don't belong in captivity, it saddens me. No offense to anyone, that's just my opinion.

I agree...but it's very important too to let average ppl understand these animals from any possible way so they can appreciate wildlife, and probably become big supporters!!

some ppl cant offer going out in the wild to c these animals and this is a great way to show what the world has for us n our job is to protect it...

my opinion as long as they are healthy and well taken care of (including the room they have) and educational, I dont mind it.

@gdeadgirl1 How do you know she wasn't born in captivity? She still won't have the skills to hunt and she'd die out in the wild without hunting abilities or a pride for protection. You can't assume "freedom" is always the best thing. It could be a death sentence. Don't forget that.

Lions are predatory animals that single out the small, weak, or elderly as prey. Her interest in the baby is not so cute when you think about what she would really like to do with it. No blaming her though, its simply her nature.

The most amazing part is that you can actually see the lions. I have been there probably 7 times and only have seen a tail of one lion. They are always hiding over that hill. I did hear the male roar from across the zoo once. It will get your attention quick.

I think they put like an electric wire or something near there so the lions don't do that any more because it was scratching up the glass. But that would be cool to acctually see! I've been to the okc zoo a whole lot.
