Read the full parable that you took that from, that isn't it at all. Jesus is making a point about how the people who behave righteously will be rewarded and sinners will be punished. To make this point he uses a parable about faithful, unfaithful, and ignorant slaves, because the institution of slavery was quite common in Judea as in all territories of the Roman empire and the concepts would be familiar to his followers.

Grow lamps can help in food production, and an enclosed system would be capable of preventing the horrible freezing if the sun weren't there. Just pointing out that it is possible. :)

Granted, if the sun were to suddenly cease to be we'd all die. With ample warning, humans could survive in an artificial environment. It wouldn't be pleasant, but it would not be impossible.

@jacqueline 1cm of lead will reduce gamma ray intensity by approximately 50%. It is not outside possibility to block gamma rays from penetrating an artificial environment. Avoiding black holes isn't as hard as you might think, on the condition you have a maneuverable craft. Black holes are something we can detect, from a good distance no less.
The fact is, while we have yet to create such an artificial environment, doing so is within the scope of our ability. Challenge is not impossible.

Well, the Creator gave us all free will, the choice to do good or evil. He doesnt want mindless robots worshipping Him. He has angels to do that if that was all he wanted. True love comes from the choice to say no. You can embrace his word or reject it at your peril. And (at the risk of sounding too preachy) the Lord will still love you, even if you will not.

Wow, you are simply going to dismiss something because it is the theory of ONE PERSON. Do you realize she was the FIRST person to receive a Ph.D in astronomy from Harvard. Her thesis was labeled "the most brilliant Ph.D. thesis ever written in astronomy". She later became Chair of the Astronomy Department at Harvard.
