  • Glaciers growing around the globe, global warming, no doubt. lol

  • People still disbelieve the evidence? How can that be?

  • This is inconclusive. The 2 panoramic photos were not taken at the same time of year. The old photo has much more snow cover than the new one. Much of what appears to be glacier is actually just snow. Another adventurer trying to get in on the climate change research bandwagon. Check out Pen Hadow's arctic sea ice 'research' too.

  • I don't care about all these global warming debates, this is reather dramatic. the fact is, yes the glacier is going to be different now then at mallory'a time, but this is a huge change and if it's changed and dissappeard this much over the last 80 odd years, how long will it be unill it is completely gone?

  • I found a stone 10 years ago in my garden and it was rounded. However, I found another this week, which was also rounded but a slightly different colour and more oval. Isn't it facinating?

  • Global warming = NWO scam to cost you a fortune.

Watch 'the big pic' by Max Egan and stop buying this crap.

  • screw the industry, I love glaciers and look at this make me feel sick...-.-

  • @forstentum oh, please, really, was not an offense, i know u have a point, and maybe u understand mine, however just like you say extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence, i say extraordinary damage on earth need extraordinary actions to save it. Hugs*

  • @forstentum WHY is it that people just wants to close the eye before reality? is it better for you or feel good inside, to avoid the feeling of guilt? if thats so, do it thru meditation, but not on public forums, because ppl get confused, and maybe thanks to your little participation on a comment, somebody who came here with the posibility of " caring" will walk away thinking that is not urgent to do something for this world, at the end, we all will be hurted by this, in long or short term.. :(

  • Climate change chief says sorry for hot air claim over melting glaciers

    By David Derbyshire

Last updated at 10:21 AM on 22nd January 2010

After a global outcry, Dr Rajendra Pachauri - chairman of the IPCC - has issued an unprecedented apology.

    dailymai(.)co(.)uk/news/articl e-1245161/Climate-change-chief -says-sorry-hot-air-claim-melt ing-glaciers(.)html#ixzz0dLXw1 aeR

  • Regardless who or what is causing it, eco system, ultimately the human species will be hurt. Every time climate changed in earth's history many species had died out then the new ones emerged. All living things took it as part of the natural selection process.

We as human just follow that and watch our species disappear? Here's one example of things to come.

Google "Rising sea threatens Nile delta "

  • well that really does re-inforce the well known phenomena of the ever changing planet. shame you couldn't take a pic of it 20 million years ago when everest was much closer to sea level.

  • Please watch my video.

It's about climate change, earth catastrophe and our planet as we lives in.

Recent Earth catastrophes, it's about Earth Changes - Continental Drift: One huge continent became 2 continents,

then 5 (or 6) and then?

    watch?v=j7I_eFoIk64

  • Careful your progressive tolerance and hypocrisy is showing.

But thanks for proving a point.

Liberal progressive's ARE the most intolerant closed minded people on the Planet.

  • Truly amazing video. Youtube user "greenman3610" has many more videos on climate change, explaining all the mistakes the deniers make in understanding what climate is. The latest video explains the significance of the recent chill in regions of the northern hemisphere.

  • The IPCC has been proven to have lied about the disappearance of the Himalayan glaciers. Don't believe me? Google it.

  • @RbVDK The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.

  • Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), did not rest on peer-reviewed scientific research.

  • Our sun that powers our planet is growing hotter. Just read any basic literature on astronomy. It is happening now and will go on until this cycle ends.

Not one single person that is crying world havoc due to mans intervention has stated this. This current global warming is one of many global warmings due to the sun growing hotter than growing cooler again. Nothing new. Just ask any astromomer. All you have to do is read about it and stop listening to dooms day sayers.

  • yes it is getting warmer at the rate of 10% every billion years, thats 0.00001% every century, or a 10% increase since any life existed on earth.

There is a solar cycle of around a 10 year period but we have just been through the low point last year.

  • its because the planet is due by 2012...thats the cause of all the big storms and its only going to get worse as we get closer...all the top world gov know about it aproching and thats why were already in a economic crisis today.. they are planning for the big day that will wipe out most of humanity around the world..about 85% will die...and the world is already starting to see effects...planet nibiru...not the end or the world just a new begining

  • @steviesmooth When 2012 comes and goes and nothing happens what are you going to say then?

  • That sucks :( the way this shit is going...we wont need crampons to climb Everest...that brings a tear to my eye how we are destroying are planet

  • Guys if you're going to freak out at least get your terms right. We aren't destroying the planet, we aren't capable of destroying the planet.

We may/may not be destroying ourselves in the long term, but in the end if we go to far with things, the planet will simply destroy rid itself of us and renew itself. This planet has been through a lot more extreme conditions then us puny humans and I'm sure it will persist after we wipe out somehow.

People think way too much in terms of our time sale

  • or even time scale.. lol

  • lol...ur right but it still sucks that this is happening but I still accept it as it is

  • rig985, Humans throw knowledge in the dump when it breaks. Follow me? Human behavior reflects stupidity, plain and simple. Stupidity if left unchecked is self eliminating.

Humans are indeed destroying the planet. Everywhere you see pollution, extinction, habitat reduction..... and the list goes on. . ..

You speak as if earth is alive, it isn't. It is a function system. Humans are breaking down that system fast today then everr before.

  • Conan568,

Your fatuous claims regarding the climate are refuted by visiting ANY world-class scientific organisation.

Strangely, your ludicrous claims are rejected by the overwhelming majority of working scientists, because they have studied objective scientific evidence.

How strange that those making claims like yours are:

    a) unsupported by objective science

    b) industry shills supported financially by fossil-fuel industry, big industry funders and political-ideological groups.

    And c) Trolls

  • To the iceberg and glacier community, all those pictures are considered smut! Some kind of art gallery this turned out to be.

  • Conan568

What sort of dimiwit or industry shill are you?

Scientists have established that the solar output has fallen slightly since 1970. The science confirming that CO2 is a greenhouse gas is well established, there are other GHGs. China is growing as a polluter, but much of the CO2 since the industrial revolution is still in the atmosphere. Just read the science - real ISI peer-reviewed published science, instead of the mickey mouse science offered by fossil-fuel industry propaganda.

  • Great handle, maybe you should change it to pseudoscience like the kind the global warming drones use.

Enjoy the kool-ade and the higher fuel costs and taxes you'll be paying.

  • Conan568

Science is science, fuel costs and taxes derive from politics and government action.

Clearly you are an ignoramus regarding the science.

  • "Clearly you are an ignoramus regarding the science.'

    The science???

The science used by Al Gore and the Kyoto accord was based on outdated science fact manipulation and outright lies.

I may not be up on the science, but neither are you.

More and more real, not bought and paid for Scientists are coming forward and saying climate change is not man made.

Now you can go back to your grazing and bleating about global warming.

  • Even a fool knows that Al Gore is NOT a scientist.

Bought and paid for scientists are denying AGW.

Where is your overwhelming science, Troll?

You will need a great deal of it.

Read the science, you just make this garbage up.

All you can repeat are lies, smears and slurs but no science.

  • "Even a fool knows that Al Gore is NOT a scientist."

That doesn't stop Fools from swallowing his bullsh1t though does it?

You have the gall to say I'm using made up science when that's exactly what the Gore-bots are doing.

  • Conan568,

Still no science! That's hardly surprising, troll.

  • I really hope you are just acting this dumb to get a rise out of people..

Scientists on both sides agree the globe is warming.. Do you not pay attention to anything NASA does? Do you think they are lying, to partake in some giant conspiracy?

Your lack of knowledge on the world around you is astonishing, keep buying into what big business tells you too, just another sheep. Open your eyes!

  • They are lying.

    End of story.

Right now there are 3000 real Scientists suing Al Gore for fraud, and they will win because Gore's Crockumentory is full of lies.

The man is a Shyster a proven liar and manmade global warming is only being swallowed by Morons.

As for my intelligence. I have an IQ of over 130, a University degree and I'm a millionaire.

  • dude, you have no idea on what your talking about, seriously, OPEN YOUR EYES

  • I dont think i've heard a more ignorant and uneducated remark on youtube in all my life

  • Fact, Gore's film is full of proven lies.

Fact the Earth's climate changes are caused by the Sun and natural phenomenon and are natural cycles.

And what you call educated I call brainwashed.

Drink all of your Kool-ade like a good little Drone, and remember, when they start euthanizing Humans for the good of the Earth, that you asked for it.

How's that Hope and Change working out for you?

    Hahaha

  • I hope for your sake you are from Kansas and also think we just magically appeared here six thousand years ago and that people roamed the Earth with dinosaurs...

  • I bet you voted for the man with no platform no solutions and no clue.

Enjoy whats coming, you voted for it.

  • true. Sadly bush backed out of many of the few environment-protection agreements. Never signed Kyoto, etc

  • LMichaelL65,

China is way behind the West, and real science, (not the mickey mouse variety) indicates that the earth is warming at the fastest rate for thousands of years.

  • The only reason there are people that believe that this is "a normal part of the earth's cycle--you know, ice ages." Because they believe the earth is 5,000 years old. So of course, warming and cooling periods happen on a much faster scale in their brains.

  • So just because they do it means we should do it, too? That makes it alright. "Everyone else is doing it!" Please. Didn't they teach you this in elementary school?

  • yeh a draw back is that it could increase the salinity in the surround area of the device, :( i hope we are not all doomed.

  • why not just dump a huge as ice cube in the ocean and make are own ice? i dont get it ;-;

science makes so much stuff.. they can do whatever they want. people can by or make there own islands and mountains now a days

  • there was an interesting idea, from a inventor, who said that the world could build a airconditioning system by spraying millions of tons of sea water into the air to regulate the temperature, however it has a big price tag and is challenging too.

  • yes lets destroy the ocean even more!

  • it would be worth the price to preserve are earth the thing most companies take for granted :)

  • The speaker resembles Scott Bakula a bit. Are they related?

  • To those that are saying that this is a part of "normal" activity. Keep in mind past glacial changes and "ice ages" spanned thousands of years. 87 years between those photos, you wouldn't be able to see a few hundred foot drop in ice under "standard" conditions.

  • So basicaly what you are trying to say is; global warming is bullsh** and nobody should really care!

  • Umm, yeah, I guess that would explain the "Flash frozen" mammoths, found with undigested plant material in their stomach?

  • I heard it was because of the burning of soot-heavy fuels - wood and coal - that are darkening the snow particles and the atmosphere, warming the ice, but not because of increased carbon dioxide levels.

  • Glaciers have been melting and moving for thousands of years. Just because things are changing doesn't mean it's bad, and it certainly doesn't mean that people are causing it.

  • Please burn tires, I'm freezing!

  • Dugg

  • dito

  • Very visual and disconcerting!:(

  • Oh my gosh, proof of glacial movement!! The complete lack of science is just astounding. Where's Al Gore when you need him?

  • He is inventing Internet 2.0

  • Glaciers MOVE? ZOMG! Water does move you know. There is more ice in some places.

I'd like somebody to take photos in the summer and in the winter....show the summer photoes first and THEN the winter photos...as proof that the worlds going to become snow covered.

  • Wow that really sucks

  • It's a bit bouncy, but watch to the end where he shows just how much ice is gone -- the difference on that rock face on the right side of the photo is 400 feet!
