Also when you love it when the dealer and al the mecanincs know you by your name, and know everything about you, you must buy a harley, because the dealer wil be the place were you spend the most of your free time, talking about crapy parts.
My brother has a Harley and I a VTX 1800. I hate to break it to you Harley zealots, but my VTX 1800 was built in the USA. I've ridden both, and the VTX is superior in many aspects, except sound. Harleys do sound great. But all that rumble doesn't help you as your Harley shrinks into my rear view mirror, with plenty of throttle and power to spare. To me the VTX 1800 is a superior machine. I get no bar room brotherhood respect on the VTX, but I'll blow you away on the highway.

@davidpat1t no thanks i own a reliable harley with over 50,000 miles it has been in the shop for a bad break light switch once and that is on recall other than that i use the shop for tire replacement.also i checked out the jap bikes they did not have any balls or heart and soul test drove a vtx and a yamaha roadstar i thought i was rideing bikes with sewing machines for motors. it's nice that we all have opinions buy what you want i'll keep my harley

I'd take the honda. There's more than just a name that goes into a bike. The honda is better engineered than Harley. Most Americans prefer Harley because of the name. Harley has little success outside the U.S. That's because non-Americans have no bias towards American products. Americans are arrogant and feel anything non-American is inferior. Same thing happened with cars, now we realize Hondas are superior than most American cars. It's only a matter of time before America realizes this with HD

Its funny when ppl say a Harley will be broke down in a few years... I used to say that when I roda a Road Star. The honest truth is I coldn't afford a Harley and never saw the hype.... Now I have a Harley and would never go back. You truly get what you pay for. Not knocking the Honda as my fourwheelers are Honda BUT their 2 cylinder bikes sound like shit IMHO which is why I origionally bought the Yamaha. There are a millioin more ways to make a HOG your own and I couldn't be happier!
