well the v8 would be pretty quik in germany you could be flying going downhill on the autobahn at 250km/h and need to make a quik maneuver. Also they could see how steering/suspension parts wear since it was their first truck. It probly gave them confidence to launch the new x5M which is 550hp stock eaisly chiped to around 700hp.... :)

The engine in this thing was originally designed for an M version of the 8 series which was never launched. This engine eventually ended up in the Maclaren F1...sounds great!

From what I see and hear on my computer (granted I have 5000 things open so it may be causing a video/audio time shift), I think he was actually off the brake at the time he rev matched. I do this all the time in my older M3.

Either way though, technique for the win here. Nice catch!

@JohnTheWad No your right it wasn't heal and toe, this dudes to old to pull that off. I always do this in manuals, my 01 celica gt i drive the crap out of, for downshifts at high rpms it burns the clutch so bad not to rev match let alone syncros. I can't heal and toe and i don't think i feel like learning, I have tried lol. In canada if you don't rev match downshift on slippery winter roads your drive wheels lock up and slide; very dangerous.
