wow. I play drums too and i can tell you your pretty talented especially for being self taught. Im sure you have a great future ahead of you for drumming
watch?v=ahMysXtQQE8 <----- PLEASE flag this video/user he is pretending to be me and i want so badly get him deleted ! flag him for copyrighting. i want to get deleted this fag and thumbs up so everybody notices this !! copy and paste to get him down ! awesome vid btw :)
you're very good for 12 years old! im a senior in high school in the drumline and you can rival a couple of us at drumset technique! just quick tip: drum solos are very common, and often times have predictable patterns. make your solos as unique as possible with sounds people won't expect so you have their attention. good luck, maybe consider joining a band? or your high school's drumline in the marching band in the future?
@wadoryu2u Recruiting the youngins. Haha, love it. I'm in drumline as well. I'm gonna have to agree that this kid could rival some of the better guys at set.
You should consider some lessons. You have talent dude. With the right person teaching you you will excell and you will be able to do the most amazing things on your drums
work on those rolls dude! they will really iron out your rudiments and will help a lot in terms of paradiddles or rolls. your quads sound really good. when doing rolls, dont exactley push down with the wrist mainly push down with the tips of your fingers. your extremely good with the faster rhythms just check your tempo and make sure that u stay on time. good luck!
cool. the only thing I hate about electric sets, is that you can't add more than 3 cymbals on most. on my acoustic set, I have 2 crashes, ride, and planning on getting a china for myself, and maybe a splash
Hey dude your lookin good :) my little tip is invest in a real set lol not saying what you have isn't nice but you'll be able to feel so much bettet on an acoustic set :) keep up the good work man! And check out my band, error 504! Most of our vids are on facebook though
Sounds pretty good. The only thing I saw was your timing needs work. And please don't be one of those drummers who over uses the double bass. Metal drummers have killed it. When I first got mine I used it a lot to get it down, now I limit it to when it fits.
@pnut3844 I agree to some extent but how he uses his double bass really isn't up to you or me, but I definitely think he should experiment and take off the slave pedal every once in a while just so he can get a feel for single pedal action.
Great drum solo! ! but what i see is that you play your whole drum solo at a high tempo and a lot of fills are the same. In a drum solo you want to do different parts. slow, normal and fast but for 1 year playing you are good!
no kidding now, if you had a decent acoustic drum set and maybe a lesson from a personal teacher (not online) you would be much much much better!!
Also the prob with your solo is that when u play a beat you suddenly break in a tottaly different (faster) tempo then jump back in the beat, it didnt sound that good.
NICE JOB! Hell, when I was 12 my set was a frankenstiened set which included a snare, 2 toms, floor tom, a ride and 10" crash. To be playing like this at your age...Your going to make someones band very happy some day. Keep it up!
Nice!.... I'd say watch and listen to Bonham to loosen up your wrists and elbows... notice how trying to restrain your arm movement ends up in your entire torso swinging back and forth... you'll gain more fluidity and energy, tire less, and enjoy more playing.
Excellent work! You are definitely blessed with an incredibly gift. I wish I was like this at 12 years old! Keep it up and work on consistent timing and working with a metronome. Don't ever let anyone stand in your way because you clearly love playing. You play very relaxed and at ease the entire time. Relaxation is key as well as keeping your cool when and if you mess up. Most of the time of you make a little screw up no or will notice but yourself. You stay calm, people are less likely to not
Nicely done, kid! You really hit your stride around @1:46. Your double bass needs work, but of course that's a tough nut to crack.
And remember: One foot can be just as powerful. Listen to any Tool album and especially Pearl Jam's "Vs." album (Abbruzzese has a superhuman right foot).
Would love to see you on a live kit too. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll get there! :)
My advice.your good for were you are at. dont give up. work on the gallops theey tend to speed you up and sometimes slow you down. Use a metronome trust me its annoying at first but youll thank me later.
I like the concept. The only criticism I have is, before you try to do fast fills and what not, focus on technique in the hands and feet. Keep a tight-ish grip in the hands, and focus on your left foot strength. Very good though.
Thanks from sending me this man! One tip, clean up your feet actions there buddy, it took me lalmost 5 years before I could finally keep a clean beat on the double bass pedal. But with practice, comes perfection :)
@MetalHead5023 lyca- im not even gonna bother to spell his name (too lazy) but hes right, double foot peddle needs a little work and the snare hits are a little off at times, but for a 12 year old this is ridiculous, keep playing and you'll be seriously good at the drums later on and may even have the chance to join a band! good luck! (thumbs up)
@Lycanpaester that's exactly what I was thinking. Not a big fan of the double pedal, but no matter what you're playing you need to have your feet really calm.
you have serious talent and obvious dedication. don't feel pushed to do over complicated stuff; finding what you're doing easy shows in a video/ performance!
Nice Vid! Try and get that acoustic kit--playing on an acoustic kit is completely different, but this gives you the opportunity to practice your rudiments and get your skills ready for that kit! Keep it up man!!
nice job!! I hope you get your acoustic drum kit soon. and btw, just watch the tempo changes when you hit faster parts. it lacked a bit of consistency. keep it up, you can be like me one day! :D jk. I'm only semi godly :P
@jw5y66 Unfortunately that's all I can afford right now. I've got to sound proof the room first than save up for an acoustic kit. Probably will take a long time. :(
