  • its all horse, theres a dozen variations of each animal in traditional xingyi,Shifu is a Xingyi Encyclopedia!

  • hes my teacher

  • we do our double horse just the same, but our single horse is slightly different, it has an elbow wrap then the same punch.

  • Looks like the horse form I've learnt, with a bit more emphasis on the double horse. That's good for spine-power generation. It is similar in use to the yang Tai bird form.

  • If you've ever done "gong li quan", the changquan form, then you might notice the double punch there as well - the power developed there (the point of the form being to develop specific power) is that of the spine, just as with this double horse. The other purpose of this movement is to get the feeling of the horse's movement in real life - remember the phrase, "ma you ji ti zhi gong"? This movement is intended to give life to that phrase.

  • i think this is the tiger shape form... plus beng quan...

  • yeah, it seems to be a mix between tiger and horse in the first few seconds, then the one handed punches are horse style alright.

  • San ti(tiger's mouth) is done at the beginning of each pattern traditionally. I may be mistaken but that is my experience. I apologize if that is a mistake.
