I think you bring up some good points but one generalization that people seem to make is that technology has to grow with intelligence. Maybe some aliens have chosen not to develop beyond a certain point. Maybe they think it's more intelligent to stay home and not roam the universe in space hips...It's just a thought.

And in regards to evolution. Maybe we don't evolve, but are tinkered with. The environment changes, so Bobby tells his little brother Jim Bob to go and change an animal to help it surive. Oooops sorry Jim Bob, your alteration to the dinosaur wasn't good enough and now your game is over! lol Go play on Mars where you can't hurt anything! lol Then he would say to Suzie. Feathers!!! I am not preaching because I don't really consider myself religious. But... I don't think we should rule out the idea the ancient writings(Such as the bible and others) is how we have been communicated to.

One comment in regards to evolution vs religion. It is possible that we were created with evolution being a tool of how we were created. In the bible, a day is often symbolic to refernce a period of time. It does not mean a day literally. And who knows, maybe God created us one day, then maybe the next day he time travelled and from his perspective, it really was only a day. There is so much we don't know about a book that is largely symbolic.
