I can appreciate the talent that goes into doing what this guy does, and it is a form of art. However, you can get a computer to do the exact same thing in seconds - why learn this skill? It is a dead art.

Simple- Typographers often take a handwriting sample, such as that and use it as the basis of a font. It's far easier to create new letter forms by hand and experiment with them than to do so electronically.

Besides, how fantastic would it be to get a letter or note written like that?

I think from a personal satisfaction point of view, you are right. This is a beautiful art. It may also be therapeutic for the person who is doing it. But, computers are so advanced; they could do something so similar that 99% of people would not be able to tell the difference. But, everyone has to have a hobby, and this one makes more sense than watching football while drinking beer.

In this video, he used a Brause & Co No 361 Nib with a Brause Marbled Pen Holder. The nibs he uses are called the Brause Steno nibs. In most of his videos, he uses a Brause No 86 Nib. That is not sold anymore... He says what he uses at the end of the video.
