If the BMW m3 is faster than the r8 in a straigh line and all you BMW fans are fapping to this video and getting all wet, then y does the m3 consistently pose slower lap times than the r8. simply because the r8 is dominating in the act of doing what it was made to do...Race. its chasis is made that way its engine is made that way and AWD dominates on the track..simple explanation

Audi uses 4wd and in this case is automatic. m3 here uses manual and is RWD.

If anyone knew anythign about cars, and how they work, they would know that at high speeds an automatic gearbox and AWD are a hindrance to a cars performance due to loss of power caused by drivetrain loss (greater friction of parts). this means that at higher speeds the BMW will be producing more WHP than the r8 which is y it starts gaining on it at like ~240kph
