The moment I saw Charizard attempting to take down Walrein with Flare Blitz I said "it is screwed" lol, Charizard got OWNED. Walrein its a very underated pokemon, that got a nice boost in the 4th gen shift.

In every battle against gym leaders/E4/frontier brains, they do different poses and animations, and each of them flash during their poses. It's just to look cool. What he's holding is a pokedex.
