i am an absolutely huge beatles fan, and usually i don't like covers of their songs..but i love the way they did them in across the universe. the way they simplified the background music, like in this one totally adds to the song. makes the lyrics really shine. love love love their use of the accordion. wow it's so beautiful i can't even explain it. completely fits the movie.

I as a newer generation now realize what the beatles are and how amazing and well thought their songs are. I could only imagine what they could have been now if they lasted. Blackbird is my favourite song. I think that the meaning to this song is so powerful and that this was written about the civil right struggle. If only todays generation could write songs with such poetic device like the metaphor used in black bird. But I can only dream...

Well, in all honesty, it depends what mood you're looking for. This version is more solemn. More... Calm/Sad.
