  • you would have fucking iron cobras

  • hey how much drum mics do u have!!!!

  • The perfect metallica fun

  • Lol thought sombody yelled at 0:44

  • what kind of set do u use to play with the song?

  • Perfect cover...

  • Bst snare sound ever seriously! But the music needs to be turned up just a little bit. :D Great covers and band, hope you guys come in Greece somewhen!

  • i started laughing at :37 and i was dying at :45...LOL. just all the random stops i guess i dont know...im probably the only one too =P. but you have insane double bass skills and awsome cover.

  • Hmm.. I adore this song. I'm not sure exactly why the title is what it is though. I'm a Christian, and I like Metallica, I just can't understand why they picked the name for the song. I understand that the song is about James' mom, but why the title? If it means something bad, it could change music as I know it...

  • @dheim293 James' mom had cancer, but she refused treatment because of her religion. She believed that god would heal her. Sadly, she died. So God failed to save her. Hence, "The God That Failed."

  • Heftig, er du norsk? Sjuke covers:)

  • Stian is that your name, this is the best drum cover on the god that failed on youtube I think. :)

  • Hey I'm not very learned about drums and what not, but you mentioned heel to toe technique. I see alot of people using their knees, and I've always used heel to toe, should I change to knee, like is that an overall better way for bass pedals?

  • yeah, is a Great Cover

  • Fucking sexy asss mofo bass yo!! sick!!

  • good play man

  • good play man

  • I didn't think was cover was good at all. The fills with the snare and toms lacked elegance that is in the studio version. Un-graceful. The best parts are when the solo is being played. And they were just off. Sorry for the cynicism.

  • This is easily my favorite song on the album. You nailed it and where you varied from the original it was in the direction of improvement over it. Awesome shit.

  • you fuckin rules :D

  • U Say U Only Used The Mic Off The Camera To get The Sound? Y Do U Have Mics Then? & I Don't Think U Can Get Tht Great Of A Sound From Ur Bass Drum Off Cam Mics Anyways. But Great Cover Man

  • @89Longlivemetallica He ment the filming in the beginning, before the song.

  • This guy is better than Lars!

  • @m47131 Not hardly

  • Damn Right! Who needs Heel 'n' Toe anyway?

  • The part after 3:55 is the best ;), well done!!

  • is that a lightbulb on your high hat??

  • god your terrible

  • @spazzman4

o rly? if you're so good, upload a video where u play this song. i STRONGLY doubt that you do it better

  • woah i use the same technique

  • how do use 1 foot 4 dbl bass any replys msg me

  • dont know why, at some point watching your feet became funny

  • полно неточностей

  • O.o

    How is heel-toe... "over-rated"?

I don't have a double bass, so for double strokes I use heel-toe...

  • good but not quite original, some of the beats are diferent, you don't need double kicks in this song except one or two times in whole song, but anyway rock on..

  • I love your drum sound on this song in this video.

  • I´m gonna say something opposite to the song title. I´ve followed the drum god that has never failed!

  • some questions about the beginning:

what do you use on your left foot? isnt there a double bass on the right foot?

and where can i buy that? i wanna poay double bass so plz help me

  • the doucle bass is two pedal so you have one pedal on each on you have a hit hat pedal too. you can buy at a store of music instrument

  • epic

so even (the double bass action at the beginning)

  • yeah what about: the god that actually never really existed :\

  • Awesome dude

  • where do u get ur backing tracks

  • @danoconnor09 he just plays over the originals

  • as always a great cover. I thought this song wold be easy to learn, but now I'm a little bit scared. :D

  • Comment removed

  • This song and "For Whom The Bell Tolls" were the first metallica songs I ever learned to play on bass. I love this song. Sick ass hell. Nice cover. As always =]

  • was he being sarcastic about not using heel-to-toe?

  • I love you... lol Great cover, man :D

  • what drum kit do u use?

  • he already explaned that in his last vid (drum tour)

  • look on his page

  • Holy shit. Fikk ståkuk.

  • You are such a great drummer, probably the best that i have seen on youtube, Thank you for giving great videos to watch and i too am excited for the under rated albums, load and reload.

  • and also i just realized, ONLY 2 MORE SONGS UNTIL LOAD!!!!! Cant wait for Bleeding me, until it sleeps and 2x4 :P A'll be w8ing

  • i can barerly hear that crash/ride(or whatever it is) above the china. Great cover overall :P

  • i agree heel toe is really overated just cause of rock band

    great cover once again :D

  • ? How does heel/toe have to do with rock band.

  • everyone amazing rock band player goes on and on about using it to get 100% on songs and stuff

  • actually heel toe is really useful if your trying to get the speed of 2stepping , while still being able to have control of your hi hat. its got a lot of athor great uses too

  • but for just double bass blast beats i think is wut he meant

  • or you can use the slide stuff

  • Fy faen, Stian! Det du spilte under soloen er kanskje det beste jeg har sett fra deg hittil! Jeg fikk ståkuk.

Great fills under the solo, 'nøff sæd.

  • This is quite high on my list of best Black Album songs. Great fills, but thanks for not going crazy, I can't imagine this song with 12,000 fills! =P

  • Heel-toe isn't necessary, but it's very useful. I use heel-toe, but just because I can't afford a double bass pedal. Now, if I could, I probably wouldn't use heel-toe. But I think it's a very good technique to learn.

  • your kit sounds awesome and fuck heel toe

  • ??????

  • great dude

  • drit bra i h'lvette

  • Why you dont use hell toe ? Cause you cant do it ?

  • Does it look like i need to ?

  • Dude , Heel - toe is a technique you dont need to use it but as a drummer i think that you should be able do do it . The vid has a great sound but watch out the tempo . What is the crash on your left side .

  • @Metallicafan2910 mm maybe not. you rock dude and i love the song but seriously heel-toe is genius. Peace

  • @Metallicafan2910 got em

  • @TheHOmac It gives weeker punch to the base and sounds shit.

  • Awesome ! how is your strings in those cobras ? very tight ? :D and how many cm's are your beaters off the bassdrum ?

  • there we go! Awesome :P

  • Like I said, VERY nice sound on this one, dude!

  • Jævlig bra!

btw åssen snus bruker du? :P

  • Ettan

  • nice bass drums dude.!

  • @mehlliont yeah nice bass drum

  • The beginning - I think wearing shoes gives you better control when playing double bass.

The cover - very good. Keep it up. \m/.

  • awesome 5 * :)

  • Thats better =D
