  • @JHoward393 They buy unsanitary unusable beef and chicken, then clean it with ammonia beforehand to make it safe to eat.

  • HEY! It's not THAT old! =(

  • cute cat i am glad things are going WELL for you now. it's fun that you remember the Euclid-green area so well. do you ever go to McDonald's in France? I understand that many traditionalists there are offended at the idea of McDonald's cluttering up their French landscape!

  • @essessessesq It tastes and smells bad here, the service is atrocious, and it is way costly. Check out José Bové! He fixed their wagon, yes he did. We just cannot tolerate fast food over here, it tastes like hot air and has no fiber. We quit even eating it on vacations, but we did like Quick for awhile. My French father in law has never had a hamburger nor a McDonald's product in his life, and my mother in law, only once. Rather typical.

  • @essessessesq That was kind of a nice area. I wish I knew what the name was of that area up the hill to the West of Cliffview. We had to drive through some woods to get up there and I used to see pheasants!

  • some of you might remember that when the Big Mac was first introduced it was packaged in aluminum foil, to keep it warm....later came styrofoam boxes, and then red cardboard boxes

  • sounds like crosby stills and nash

  • Back when the burger was actually fucking big. Today's Big Macs are minute. D:|

  • the box is more advanced than the one of today wtf

  • fucking right im a racist!you white trash fuckers cama here and raped our women.killed our children stole our land, killed us not only with guns but also with disease!go die and fuck your men up the ass faggot loving filth!

  • @89orangejuice you mad?

  • @89orangejuice sounds like mommy and daddy didnt give you enough hugs LOL go jump in front of a train, i'll also bet you'll never directly be racist to anybody unless on the internet because in real life you're probably some pussy.

  • when it looked good...

  • If only Don Gorske was in this commercial.

  • McDonald's uses the best quality ground beef, but it still is not particularly healthy...and yes, the hamburger which is now a dollar started as 15 cents until 1967

  • Back in the old days when it contained more meat than chemicals...

  • @MrFox1231 *the GOOD old days

  • @MrFox1231 I remeber them tasting yummy in the late 70s...i dont know why but they were actually yummy then

  • @mrfrogbutt1 : AMEN!!! Thank you, I've been saying the EXACT same thing for years!

  • @DRUMTOY2000 My sister used to work at McDonalds back in 1978-1980 and I remember the hamburgers being yummy. The same could be said for Burger King or Taco Bell in that time period. I think that now all of these companies have lost what their purpose and that has long since been replaced by money. The world has changed so much since then when I was in kindergarden in 1979. Even the music died!!!

  • @MrFox1231 wrong. when kroc bought mcdonalds back way before the 70s, he already started replacing many different ingredients with things like soy and all that crap. however it seems your nostalgia has bested you.

  • @MrFox1231 You actually belive that?

  • @MrFox1231 yeah and when they were 2x the size.

  • Mcshit

  • Remember when beef wasn't chock full of chemicals preservatives steroids and ecol i.

  • notice the size of the fries and drink.......small by todays standards

  • What a greate sandwitch O_O

  • I'm hungry....

  • woah! i can actually see the meat on that burger!!!

  • bigg macks are the only thing i eat at mickey d's

  • Mc Big! No More...Just the Price!

  • I had to memorize this for a Vacation Bible School contest when I was kid. I thought I had forgotten it but hey, thanks to your post it is front and center!! LOL

  • back in the 70s they used to about the big mac "and change from a dollar" yes kids, big macs once cost less than a dollar. Don't really know how much they cost now because I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat meat but I imagine it's a lot more than a dollar...

  • the thing that appeared to me the most was the box it was in. THEY NEED to bring that back XDXD at least one day, for me

  • DON GORSKE WATCH THIS VIDEO EVERYDAY BEFORE TO GET SOME SLEEP

  • that box O.O

  • @BAH5790 That box Mind=blown

  • The ad was made in 1975. The Big Mac has sadly shrunk in the past 30+years.

  • Fun fact: the actual Big Mac made in this ad has 'still' not begun decomposing.

  • ill eat that cute black bitch instead

  • @stevenblouis

    thristy nigga

  • sorry to hear the "Big" Mac has been made smaller in several countries. It is still the same size here as in 1968, but McDonald's keeps raising the price [as the value of the dollar goes down because the crooks in Washington keep [printing more money to cover their excessive spending]. Big Macs still taste good, but they are not healthy, so limit your consumption!

  • Look at that box.

  • thumbs up if you ate the big mac in the 70s

  • 0:36 Prince William likes Big Macs

  • thumbs up if your watching this while eating one

  • thanks cure cat for all the interesting memories

i can remember Cliffview area before side of cliff was removed in 1960 and Cliffview Car Wash was put in 1962 Mcdonald's was built---- your grandmother was in a very nice neighborhood of Cleveland then, Euclid Park.. at the corner of Euclid and Green was the Green-light Shopping Center. You are VERY far away from Cleveland now, being in France. How did you get there and why, just curious-----Steve in Cleveland

  • @essessessesq I remember the Green-light! It was a nice area for quite awhile, yes. My family kicked me out when I was 18, when I was about 19 or 20 paychecks started bouncing on me in Kent, so I moved to NYC to be a servant. A couple of abusive marriages & the inability to get healthcare at any price, I had to expatriate. I remember that car wash, too, and the other granny lived up to the West in a kind of heights area near there. Wow, that used to be really pretty up there.

  • fatty

  • 0:48 cheese

  • The boxes... wow.

  • KFC > MC

  • hi dovie2blue---wasn't that a fun time, cruising to McDonald's to dine in your car and get a nice meal and get "change back from your dollar" as the McDonald's ads used to say!! it was a good hangout for innocent fun with cool cars and cool girls.....no gangs, no crime, just middl;e class America

  • @essessessesq I believe the burgers may have been $.15 at the time. There were no other options, just the 3 types of sandwiches, fries (all one size) and drinks (also small).

  • far out

  • Big Macs didn't become smaller. We grew up. :(

  • the special sauce is clown semen.....

  • When the Big Macs where actually big

  • By the way cool cat, the name Joe Blanco is familiar, i must have encountered him sometime while at McD. Mayfield and Green also had a manager named Fred Drake, but that might have been before your time there. the McD menu back then was: hamburger, cheeseburger, Big Mac, and filet-o-fish, plus fries, hot apple pies, and drinks. that was it. nothing else!

  • @essessessesq I come from the time of the dinosaurs, when there was nothing at McDonald's except hamburgers, cheeseburgers, filet-o-fish, drinks, and fries. All in small proportions! And you could not eat inside b/c there was no inside, just your car. LOL

  • @essessessesq Yes, the egg mcmuffin was only just about to appear there. Poor Joe, he had zero personality and could be pretty mean. I think the Karos brothers were, too. My only complaint was the 8 hour shifts on Saturdays were too long and hard for me so they gave me a permanent off after long, good service. We had an older guy, a lifer who'd become a partner, really old school, and he was fun to work with! I wanted to flip burgers but they kept putting me up front, ha ha!

  • @essessessesq We probably know dozens of the same people! clevelandmarko might even be a distant kissin' cousin of mine! His channel is useful and funny.

  • cool cat you are right, the Cleveland McDonald's at Cliffview was one of the very last with the original golden arches and no dining room, into the 1980s. I worked there in the 1970s while in law school, as assistant manager. Don't know if you remember it, but in April 1975 was the 20th anniversary of McDonald's and we sold hamburgers at the original 1955 price of 15 cents [limit of 10 per customer]---we sold 13,000 by 5 pm and then ran out of meat and buns! it was complete chaos!!!

  • @essessessesq They did that in NYC in the early '80s and it was a huge success -- burgers at ten cents! I bought a huge sack and they were annoyed with me but I gave them out as GIFTS that day! One guy asked me for an extra one for his dog! They were annoyed I bought nothing else, but I just stared them down. I was working full time and a student with a second job so that sack of burgers was cheap, useful fun! And I shared!

  • @essessessesq That was such a cool restaurant. We'd spend the day at my Nana's in Cliffview swimming and were furiously hungry after. About twice a month we were taken for food at that arches place. I always wanted the filet o fish, a small fries and a small orange drink. I think I fell in love with the raw potato man. There was a kind of bench outside the window so kids could watch the food production. Had to be outside and eat out there. It was good!

  • @CuteCatFaith That was my mother's order, probably because we went on Fridays and she was a good Catholic! Pre Vatican II, we all had to fast from meat on Fridays.

  • should be:

    two old beef patties

    shitty sauce

    fake cheese

    dehydrated onions

    on a chemical bun

  • Ahhhh the days when commercials like this first introduced asians to the american public.

  • at 0:07 she is sooooo a lesbian

  • @ChrisTrabantProject A lot of my coworkers were gay in the '70s. At McDonald's. They tended to make the best managers and coworkers.

  • @CuteCatFaith ha yeah there not bad people

  • @ChrisTrabantProject unless you've seen the movie "Super -size me" *_*

  • @ChrisTrabantProject We had a lot of gay clientele also who were great customers. Some would joke, "I know it's bad for me, but I love a greasy burger every week!" They tended to be more outgoing and lifted morale with their flamboyance. We also had fag hags come in who were really fun, supporting their gay friends who worked there and buying something and blowing kisses.

  • I like how they never use "that everybody's talking about anymore" because all people talk about these days are ponies.

  • @Ayevee39 I like ponies and horses, too.

  • Onions on a big mac? Do they still do that no a days? I dont recall having onions when i get my big mac. I love onions!!

  • @Gerold1981 it's dehydrated onions

  • @Gerold1981 They used to be fresh, raw and chopped. The meat was never frozen. The fries were peeled and sliced on the spot. Things switched around 1973 or so. They told us, the employees, outright, that the fish was shark. "North Atlantic Whitefish" or some such name. The managers would laugh about that. When we cooked our own food correctly the old style fresh stuff tasted wonderful.

  • @Gerold1981 They still have onions on Big Mac (at least in Canada). The onions are cut very small into tiny squares. You can almost not see them. I think they are dehydrated too.

  • i`m hungry...

  • I want a Big-Mac now.

  • Pickles!

  • thought it would be newer than 1975, where is the Styrofoam?

  • @macmanjimmy Out there polluting the oceans.

  • True Story:I was at macdonalds and I bought Big mac (dinner).BUT IT WAS SMALLER THAN THIS.Oh,and I live in Estonia but who was selling? RUSSIA.You didn't understand what they said.Yes they were talking estonia language, but still, you didn't understand. >:(

  • 0:09 It's Dan Hicks!

  • wow, cute cat, i know the Mayfield and Green McDonald's very well....in fact, in 1975 sometimes we borrowed stuff like buns from you guys....i was at the McDonald's at Green and Euclid Ave., a few miles north of yours.

your owners were Gus and Nick Karos, really big shots in the McDonald's system. they invented the McDonald's french fry, and were the first McDonald's owners to do TV advertising. One of the brothers died this year, the other one is still around.

  • @essessessesq Wasn't that a store with real arches? There was one I loved on Euclid Avenue below the Cliffview Apartments. A gay manager at my place liked me but this other guy did not, but we knew his wife had cancer. Joe Blanco. He was really mean. The gay manager got everyone popping and laughing. I loved the real fresh french fries they used to do on Euclid the one I remember, there was a bench so kids could watch the guy peeling the spuds. I kind of liked my job.

  • far out!

  • lol

  • And did you know, that particular big mac is still on the tray awaiting to be sold.....fresh macca's anyone?

  • They where bad at cutting correct haha. ''I think they where describing a bi... MA'' 0:08

  • The girl at the beginning looks like Phoebe Cates. Dang that camera angle makes that sammich look huge!

  • When it really was a 'BIG' Mac

  • ahh yes before the world started counting calories.

  • @Cillababyy408 It was weird, not being able to carry in my own healthful lunch and having to spend my 30 minute lunch break looking at slide shows and having it marked off as my training. I still have scars on my arms from being a fry girl so often. I also slipped and fell several times and never recovered. That was before lawsuits.

  • I couldn't understand that black chick. Same as today.

  • @NYKID10014 Oh my God. You (or your family members) were probably talking that same racist shit 40 years ago when this commercial came out. It's a shame your brain is stuck 200 years in the past when all everybody else cares is about is the Big Mac.

  • Wowww

  • McDonald's uses ground chuck, a lean and top quality beef. the food is not very healthy at McD, but they do use top quality ingredients...the best ketchup, best cheese, best lettuce,etc....i worked there for 12 years in college and law school.

  • @essessessesq Remember the ad campaigns about yuppies whose first jobs were at McD's? I was selected to work for them in Iceland but they wanted me to spend the first year in Finland and I said no. They have since closed in Iceland. McD's is rotten in France. I swear. What a pity.

  • Big Mac is exactly the same as when first introduced in 1968----two beef patties that are 1.6 ounces each, for a total of 3.2 ounces.....1/5 of a pound.

the only difference in the Big Mac is that it was 49 cents in 1968.....today it is almost $4.00.......

  • @essessessesq Back then 50 cents were worth around 3 dollars ha ha :P.

  • @essessessesq Yes, I earned 90 cents per hour at McD's. That was pretty much a basic minimum wage then. I was very impressed -- I had some coworkers who could get 100 per week working with me. We had a black employee who worked also in a canning factory and they kept him in the back. Customers were hostile in S. Euclid to seeing a "shine." That was the first time I heard that slur. I had no idea what to think. That guy was wonderful, so nice and hard working.

  • @essessessesq And currently costs McDonalds about $0.25 to make, give or take $0.20-30 for overhead

  • @essessessesq well if you have done your homework you would know that it was hard times also then and monthly money you got from work wasn`t that good ether so that`s why it was also cheap at that time but in fact... it was actually more expensive at that time compared to our monthly gain of money now so the difference is big yea , but it`s cheaper today compared to the 1960s :)

  • @essessessesq they maybe in fairy land, but I can tell you in Australia, they are about 1/10th that size.. Not even light snack size...

oh and dont get me started on the "fries" sizes, the small slze contained 18 piss poor chips the last lot my kid got in a "happy meal"...

  • @essessessesq No offence bro but i now why americas obesity rate is so high, itscause your fast food is so cheap! Here in Canada a Big Mac meal is almost nine dollars!

  • @lilbuckranger8 Holy McCow!

  • @essessessesq That being said, the average income has as well. In terms of percentage of income, I'd say it's actually probably cheaper to order today.

  • I wonder if it was as shitty back then as it is today.

  • @ballebanan lol u cunt big mac's taste scrumptiously Delicious!

  • @ballebanan If they didn't follow the routine, it was an absolute crap shoot. I worked in a totally racist one and after sporting events when there were black customers, we'd have to make a bunch of strawberry shakes. The whites never wanted those, only the blacks. It was very mean spirited. South Euclid, Ohio. There were over 3,000 students in my high school and only two were black. Class of '75.

  • "Special Sauce," it's just Thousand Island dressing! LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @CuteCatFaith The marketing people invented the "special sauce" so people would want to try it. I guess it worked.

  • @dovie2blue In the '60s and '70s for myself and my family and neighbors, fast food was a rare treat. We had to save for it. It was a big deal to be able to have it a couple of times per month. Even as a college student on a tight budget in Ohio (I paid my own way), even a pizza was a huge treat.

  • @CuteCatFaith I know, right? We only got to go to McDonald's every couple of months, and it was a very special treat that we savored. In those days, we ate out once a month when my dad got paid (he worked for the school system and they paid monthly). Other than that, it was homecooked meals only. I remember when the first home-delivery chicken place started up, I still know their jingle, "Don't cook tonight, call Chicken Delight!" They didn't make it long term.

  • @dovie2blue fridays growing up meant either KFC or pizza. never had a homecooked meal on those days. and McDonald's was a special treat when we went on trips. Ah, memories. LOL

  • @dovie2blue Chicken Delight! The '60s! You know, I actually tried it a few times and it was good. Not healthy, but fun. They had funny cars with chickens on top. As a grad school project I invented something similar for Brooklyn, NY workers, even if Kosher or Halal. It was all just on paper. When did Chicken Delight go out of business? God, chicken businesses are so popular for takeout here in my Arab nabe in France.

  • @CuteCatFaith I think my mom and dad tried it once and found it abhorrent, but both of them were farm people who made fantastic fried chicken themselves. I remember when Burger King started, when Taco Bell started, Kentucky Fried chicken, Pizza Hut. None of those existed when I was little - they all came on line between 1964 and 1973. We did have A&W drive in, with tiny little root beer mugs for kids. Soda was a special treat.

  • @dovie2blue They barely drink soda in France and people from the USA look at me crosseyed when I say soda was a huge treat. We'd get it only now and then and birch beer at the Dog 'N' Suds was my favorite. I had some richer relatives who got "Little Tom" sodas delivered for us kids, I thought they were millionaires. I never found birch beer again and root beer is way less refined. I loved those frosted mugs.

  • @dovie2blue I think people were way healthier, having soda only as a treat sometimes. We made our own lemonade or iced tea or just had water or even beer way back when. A couple of years ago I paid five dollars for a can of Dr. Pepper in Paris, France. My spouse thought I was weird but I sipped it and went into a kind of bliss. They really do not do soda or even cocktails in France.

  • @CuteCatFaith Well soda is more common than it used to be, but beer and wine are the standard, and Americans are astounded that you can order wine with your McDonald's meal! Wine is just a beverage over there, to drink with a meal. I think HFCS has made us fat...regardless of what the corn industry says. We didn't have it back when I was a kid and no one over-ate - it switches off the "I'm full" mechanism in our bodies so we want to keep eating - especially junk food.

  • @dovie2blue When I see how little I eat now in France, without any beverages at meals cuz saliva is your best beverage for digestion, the Europeans tend to feel, I feel ashamed. I used to think more was better. I have one friend who had her stomach stapled in the US and it worked for her but I remember she used to eat enough for three men at ordinary meals.

  • @dovie2blue I know, A lot of fast foods put thousand island and claim it's actually something special. "Mac Sauce" at McDonalds, "Stacker Sauce" at Burger King, "W Sauce" at Wendy's, and whatever the heck they call the stuff on a Mozza Burger at A&W.

  • Where's I'm loving it

  • is that prince william at 0:38 ???

  • Fast food chain blend ammoniac cleaned meat into the other meat.

    Juck!
