@aaronaspirt m100p is no stronger than handgun. save it for scenarios where you're surrounded. I would recommend using up all your acid rounds, then switching to the knife(yes, it seriously works on this guy). you may also use the catapult as frequently as possible. You probly need more than a single mixed herb, so be prepared to make a lot of tries.

@venomfanatic I recommend using the knife in this game. At least use it on downed zombies for as long as you feel you don't need the inventory space. Also, knife dogs.
@Joshuazx well i actually used knife in RE1 and RE3,i just bought RE2 so i don't know if it will be usefull(i bought this RE2 for 5 bucks xD).Also using knife on dogs is a bit hard because they are running and moving fast while zombies are just walking slower that a turtle...anyways i guess i will have to use this tip again,thanks for recommending it man ;)

That is the single worst arrow the knee joke i have ever heard, it is not even relevant in any way, its simply a statement with arrow to the knee added on the end.
I don't have a grenade launcher and im out of handgun ammo. I only have a bow gun and lots of ammo for it, but it doesn't stun him no matter how much I fire.
So what do i do? He's impossible to beat with only the bow gun! and I only have two first aid spary's, but knowing the shit-ton of damange he cause to me with just a single swipe, Im only delaying the inevitable with it.

I don't remember, but I know that the very first time I ever fought him I was using Code Breaker which I had at the time but it stopped working as soon as my PS2 began having those disc read error issues like every PS2. It was likely 10 years ago when I was 12 or 13, and I was probably scared of this boss anyway. I don't remember much else, including when I finally got around to plaything this game on my own.

@GMmaster99 I don't think people understand the mechanics of this fight. Tyrant's attacks are basically unavoidable for as long as he is "healthy." If you have the green grenade rounds, you can win instantly by using all three on him and then firing the catapult.
If you don't have that, you'll need a small arsenal and at least 3 full healing items and have at him. The catapult does damage him. I suspect it does damage equal to about 1/8 of his total life.
@GMmaster99 Good question. It's been too long, so not precisely sure, but you'll notice after a while he's not as aggressive, meaning he won't attack you unless you're really close. Other signs I might be making up are: look out for whether he stops recoiling when you attack him and he might also trail blood/trail more blood and walk slower/funny.

@UberPwnageB33ST Hitting him with the catapult does indeed help. You probably have enough ammo to squeeze by, the problem is you probably don't have enough health/healing items for that arsenal. If you want to stretch your health, ammo, and healing items, I suggest learning to use the knife strategies for fighting this boss. BTW, the knife is awesome against this guy; you could have him beaten in under 1min.

@MagicalSoldier1 Hm. I forgot about that? Maybe we can attribute it to luck? I imagine the damage of any attack in this game, PC or NPC, varies, and I got lucky and it varied high both times in my favor.
@TheOriginalBadMofo Thats what Resident Evil is all about!! (atleast the old school ones), anyone that has played any of the RE games knows that conserving ammo, and healing items is a most. Avoiding enemies and fleeing when Its possible is the best way to do so, and I had ammo and health for 3 bossfights like this when I was at this point into the game. After all Its a SURVIVAL horror game and It's the player that plays it, not the other way around ;)
@SakuraWhish He can't run anymore after you weaken him enough. In fact, I think when he stops running, that's how the game lets you know you've won and it's time to launch the catapult.
I managed to do it, odd thing was when i came back to try it again the next day i was able to run around the tyrant and he dident even attempt to attack me. I have now finished the game..but pissed that i need to do the run through again for an A rank :(
@stuie87 A rank is actually not that difficult. You're allowed 4h30m playtime and 1 free save after beating tyrant 2 on the plane. Don't use any weapons that take 2 slots, except the sniper rifle which is fine. When I play for A rank, I don't skip items and I use the knife a lot and I usually get ~4h10m playtime.
I own the ps2 version and got this off xbox market place last week and omg forgot about this fight and just like when i played it on ps2...i was so not ready for this fight! I have 15 bullets, 3 gas rounds, 3 grenade rounds and 2 acid rounds, plus a herb. And can i fuck get past this guy to last long enough to hit the 2nd crate! Pissing me off and like others i don't wish to restart!! When you try to get round him he still managers to knock you on your ass!
Well im fucked, i've only got 27% m-100p, 30 bullets custom handgun, and 3 normal bow gun darts, i also have 2 first aid sprays. will shoting the cargo at him damage him ?
I just barely beat this thing on the plane... I had no healing items, I was in orange Caution, and had 3 gas rounds and 3 flame rounds.. I shot him like crazy at the beginning, then he knocked me down and put my health to danger.. I ran to the other end of the plane and shot him some more with the handgun then luckily I got back past him without him even attempting to hit me.. I pushed the catapult and he was gone..
i broke the disk in half from this no joke. This fight is not fair, since i only saved with 1 slot, then i only have bow and arrow. Not a fair fight at all since it can dodge and jump at you and you cant. No fair at all.
@cameroncrogers1995 True, it's a bit of a one sided fight. This guy can take and dish out a ton of damage and he doesn't die on his own. But, if you use the green grenade rounds, you take out 95% of his life. Otherwise, you will need a ton of weaponry and 2-3 100% health items. I like to use the knife on everything ('cept bosses) up until Antarctica and save a lot of ammo.
@Joshuazx i wish it would of warned me of it or something. I used those when i had to drop his ass on the trip from the training facility to the mansion or i would get thrown into fire. This game is now my least fave RE. I love RE but this one sucks now. Btw i beat it before, but on PS2 with codebreaker for infinite ammo. I just played it on the PS3 with the new collection disk. (yes i broke it in half). But oh well. Guess it should of thought about it before pissing me off. Now theres no tyrant

You're obviously on easy, the tyrant isn't dashing at Claire every time she runs past. Either that or the tyrant's drunk. Why not show us a video of you beating it on hard mode with 'relative ease.'

@nickoooooooooo I have yet to attempt a fight against this guy with less than ideal items and weapons. I'm not sure it's possible to win without taking hits from this guy. You're probably out of luck.
I remeber playing it on Dreamcast. It was PAIN IN THE ASS to win, I could'nt find a way so I was told that if you manage to lanch the catapult when he is behind that iron line he will get out!
@ManekIridius Probably. I would stand by the catapult and shoot. When he gets too close, launch the catapult, then get out of that corner and fight him.
I f'ing hate the Tyrant. First time I got to him 4 grenades 1 green herd and 67% ammo in my duel hand guns. I tried nearly 200 times to kill him with that. I can prolly draw the bank of the plane. I finally started over and when I got back I had 30 explosive arrows. The fight lasted less then 15 seconds.
The first time I fought him on the plane I was thinking: "Okay, let's put you down for good" and then he sprouted claws I was like: "HOLY FUCKING SHIT ITS GOT CLAWS THE SIZE OF MY FACE!"
Hey so ive breezed through this game up untill here. I go into the battle with fine health i have 70 normal arrows and 60 handgun bullets (3 round burst) i am out of gernade rounds. I am just wondering if it is possible to beat him with these items? Or should i restart? Thanks alot :)
@jordanthemano135 If im late my fault but the anwser is yes u still can beat him cuase i was in the same vote as u i had no herbs a hand gun and the bow gun. SO i thought the same thing but there are actually 2 ways to do it both VERY HARD though one is the knife and two is running around in circles. Both these ways are actually shown on vid from darktabusa i think is his name is and the other name i cant remeber. In ur case though the knife would be hard cause he will hit u
@jordanthemano135 probably kill u so the knife would probably be near impossible but the other one the circle it does work if u practice enough and are very patient u can run around him until the cargo charges up this has to be done 5 times not including the free first shot u get. IF u get the hang of it u can beat him and be hit once or twice i did it and was hit about 2 times. But again it was very hard restarting might be better but just thought id give u a lil help good luck freind.
@MitsukiAG They kinda already did.. The RE Remake and RE0 on the Gamecube had better graphics than this, but they had pre-rendered backgrounds. This game has fully 3-D backgrounds.

@maverick123 There's another way to get to that room. It's shortly after you use the Blue Crest on the outside door around the earlier areas of the island.
i'm 13, and i don't like zombies so much, that i don't even want to go to the graveyard part and use the knife. Well im fucked, i've only got 27% m-100p, 30 bullets custom handgun, and 3 normal bow gun darts, i also have 2 first aid sprays. will shoting the cargo at him damage him ?

I just barely beat this thing on the plane... I had no healing items, I was in orange Caution, and had 3 gas rounds and 3 flame rounds.. I shot him like crazy at the beginning, then he knocked me down and put my health to danger.. I ran to the other end of the plane and shot him some more with the handgun then luckily I got back past him without him even attempting to hit me.. I pushed the catapult and he was gone..

i broke the disk in half from this no joke. This fight is not fair, since i only saved with 1 slot, then i only have bow and arrow. Not a fair fight at all since it can dodge and jump at you and you cant. No fair at all.

@cameroncrogers1995 True, it's a bit of a one sided fight. This guy can take and dish out a ton of damage and he doesn't die on his own. But, if you use the green grenade rounds, you take out 95% of his life. Otherwise, you will need a ton of weaponry and 2-3 100% health items. I like to use the knife on everything ('cept bosses) up until Antarctica and save a lot of ammo.

@Joshuazx i wish it would of warned me of it or something. I used those when i had to drop his ass on the trip from the training facility to the mansion or i would get thrown into fire. This game is now my least fave RE. I love RE but this one sucks now. Btw i beat it before, but on PS2 with codebreaker for infinite ammo. I just played it on the PS3 with the new collection disk. (yes i broke it in half). But oh well. Guess it should of thought about it before pissing me off. Now theres no tyrant

You're obviously on easy, the tyrant isn't dashing at Claire every time she runs past. Either that or the tyrant's drunk. Why not show us a video of you beating it on hard mode with 'relative ease.'

@nickoooooooooo I have yet to attempt a fight against this guy with less than ideal items and weapons. I'm not sure it's possible to win without taking hits from this guy. You're probably out of luck.

@ManekIridius Probably. I would stand by the catapult and shoot. When he gets too close, launch the catapult, then get out of that corner and fight him.

I f'ing hate the Tyrant. First time I got to him 4 grenades 1 green herd and 67% ammo in my duel hand guns. I tried nearly 200 times to kill him with that. I can prolly draw the bank of the plane. I finally started over and when I got back I had 30 explosive arrows. The fight lasted less then 15 seconds.

@D202116 Sure, I beat him with 6 acid grenades, 3 explosive arrows, and 3 B.O.W grenade rouns...... no herbs or spray.
You dont have to destroy him, only make some time and release the box

Hey so ive breezed through this game up untill here. I go into the battle with fine health i have 70 normal arrows and 60 handgun bullets (3 round burst) i am out of gernade rounds. I am just wondering if it is possible to beat him with these items? Or should i restart? Thanks alot :)

@jordanthemano135 If im late my fault but the anwser is yes u still can beat him cuase i was in the same vote as u i had no herbs a hand gun and the bow gun. SO i thought the same thing but there are actually 2 ways to do it both VERY HARD though one is the knife and two is running around in circles. Both these ways are actually shown on vid from darktabusa i think is his name is and the other name i cant remeber. In ur case though the knife would be hard cause he will hit u

@jordanthemano135 probably kill u so the knife would probably be near impossible but the other one the circle it does work if u practice enough and are very patient u can run around him until the cargo charges up this has to be done 5 times not including the free first shot u get. IF u get the hang of it u can beat him and be hit once or twice i did it and was hit about 2 times. But again it was very hard restarting might be better but just thought id give u a lil help good luck freind.

Damn. I remember how I thought RECV graphics were totally badass. Time sure flies by and game industry has made some sick progress O_o.
I only hope they'll make another RE with this gameplay and wicked graphics. I miss the old ones </3

@MitsukiAG They kinda already did.. The RE Remake and RE0 on the Gamecube had better graphics than this, but they had pre-rendered backgrounds. This game has fully 3-D backgrounds.

@Joshuazx I just started a new game and I've been using the knife and the knife is pretty damn powerful.ASved a lot of ammo and some herbs and saved the BOW grenades and flame rounds and shit.

You are in good company im stuck here to and all i have is a gun and normal bowgun rounds but if it helps i almost beat him with just those items and i seen a vid on here that a player beat this guy with just a knife so i dont know if u have already seen it or if u have beating it or started over again but if u havent id say its not completely hopeless its just gonna be very difficult.

i'm 13, and i don't like zombies so much, that i don't even want to go to the graveyard part and use the knife. In fact, i didn't even want to leave the jail room! grabbed a handgun bullets, a combat knife, and i started going through the door and BAM! turned off my PS2. i don't want the bad dreams. :( shame on me....... I don't even know how i got the game, I WOULD NEVER IN MY LIFE BUY A ZOMBIE GAME. i would rather shoot myself in the head than get eaten alive.

@markeesdeath heres a funny thing, i start playing it and collected my courage and start playing it and i got past all the zombies in the graveyard then i stopped in the part where i got the gun because i'm watching more video to see where the zombies are and what kind they are ahead. then i need to know how strong the gore was so i let the zombie kill claire once and i killed a few of them. so now i'm an official RE:CVX player! i can't believe i was so scared for the past 4 years i had it. LOL.
