It's sad that this Super-8 camera took better film of concerts than cellphones until probably 2010. Think about it, how many videos have you guys seen on YouTube from a cellphone where the sound is just too much for the phone and it's just a bunch of junk and the footage is all pixelated. Now look at this footage, it's pretty good and the sound is not muffled and messed up at all. Amazing.

Wow, what a flashback! I was blessed to have seen Randy's last gig in Knoxville on March 18, 1982, the night before he died. The main thing Ill always remember was being blown away by "Ozzy's guitar player", as everyone in school the next day, that had attended the concert, refered to Randy. By the time we got home, word was getting around that he'd died in a plane crash. I didnt believe it!

This takes me back to when I was 7-8 years old in 1980/1, a friend had this album, and let me hear it. From that day on I was hooked. Randy went to the same high school as me and grew up in in the same town. Man, those really were the days ... Maiden, Priest, Ozzy, Rainbow, Scorpions, UFO, Van Halen, AC/DC ... thats when music was bitchin'!!

He knows he is secondary to the singer and guitarist so he does his little 'tricks' and stands further towards the front of the stage as well while doing it. I was at this show, as well as at their 2nd set that night. We got to meet Rhoads a little earlier that afternoon, and he was totally nice, regular guy. This is Ozzy's greatest post-Sabbath lineup. RR's playing just blew us away, the greatest thing we had heard and seen since Van Halen first hit 3 years earlier. Motorhead opened this show, and they killed as well.

We saw RR again 6 months later on the DoaM tour at Nassau Coliseum. Def Leppard and the Joe Perry Project (which SUCKED) opened.

@g36 The footage was likely shot on a single Super-8 sound film camera. Each film cartridge contained 50 feet of stock, which captured just over 3 minutes of footage. You can see each reel of film ending when it goes white. Most of the songs just happened to have the solos at around this same time. Regardless, this footage is a treasure, a time capsule, and I think we all appreciate that it exists and has been shared here.

First time I've seen it. Not really that different than seeing his show now. Pretty amazing tho' that this band hasn't been seen live in the same way before. It's just the idea of those songs being completely fresh and cool at the time. How thirsty were people for this just after disco. Also how triumphant these albums were for Ozzy being solo. Neat to see how simple the stage show was too. No hair, handkerchiefs and tombstones. I just can't believe we are just seeing these.
