  • what size tank is that and how big are the balas?

and if i send you my email can you show me how to make the co2 kit?

  • These aren't really shark's you know....

  • 55 gallon to small i feel like it would be ... i love the bala and want one but rather have it in a bigger tank that some one els owns if it not the right size ... want whats best for the fish

  • ohh sorry its 54 liters so thats like around 14 gallon i think ;/

  • This video just wanna make me get some Bala sharks for my 47 gallon T.T

  • Nice Balas! I have two, not quite that large yet (around the size of your smaller one maybe slightly larger). Mine are kept in a nice 75 gallon community tank, with several different freshwater species. Stop by and see some of my posted vids (I post all the time). I have some interesting items available for viewing, with more on the way all the time, Again, nice Balas, very healthy looking fish!

  • A perfect aquarium....well done. These are one of the finest species to keep. So elegant and active all the time without being aggressive. Thanks for Vid

  • Where can u get the bala sharks from bud? Are they country specific.. I'm in perth Australia was wondering if I can get them here? If anyone knows thanks

  • what is the fish with the black stripe on its side? and what is the long one at the top? thank you :)

  • @TheSpiderkill - Thin one with black stripe is either a flying fox or siames algae eater. The long one is a baraccuda (they love to eat neon tetras)

  • how big is your tank??

  • contando con que los tiburones bala necesitan otros parámetros de agua y 500litros para vivir en condiciones.....pues....ejem, dicho todo. cada cual sabrá como cuidar sus animales...

  • what do u feed them? i think mine are shy to get floating pellets...but eats when it pass near them...can they eat cucumber? respond pls

  • @aljondavid

i feed them all kinds of food but mostly flake, to help with shyness try buying some upper active fish like goldern barbs they stick around the top which makes the sharks more relaxed to join them (really works).

    thanks

    si

  • @siy1982 yes i have active fish like tiger barbs they so fast at getting it...but bala shark still to shy =)..thanks

  • @aljondavid Balas absolutely eat cucumbers! Stop by my channel and look through my posted videos... you will see plenty of videos that show my Balas eating cucumber. you might also enjoy trying my cucumber feeding method for them as well! If you do drop by my channel enjoy, lots to see there!

  • ANNOUNCEMENT. yea it is semi aggressive when theyre still small, and they become really agressive when they get bigger! everyone thinks that theyre not friendly, why? ok now ill prove u guys wrong, i have 10 guppies, and i secretly bought 2 balashark at petsmart. its been a month, and i dont see no agressiveness of a balashark, my guppies even kiss those 2 balashark and the sharks likes it.

  • how big is your tank?

  • im geting a Bala shark in a day or 2 and i was just wondering what they eat

  • Correct

  • is that a sucking loach at 0:10 ???

  • do you think two bala sharks can be put in a 40 gallon?

  • @redo7706 your tank might be a bit small, if I could start again id get smaller types of fish.. balasharks are a very attractive fish but not really the best to keep long term, need lots of space and are not very friendly (swim away from you (good with other fish))..

  • @siy1982 thanks for the advide because i didnt get them yet. im going to look in to getting a diffrent type of animal/fish

i was thinking about 5 african dwarf frogs in a 20 gal tank

  • @siy1982 how big is your aquarium? how many balas are in there?

  • @siy1982 im gonna get one or two of em if they have in the local store around me. But i get small ones for my 47 gallon tank. Its good? they can survive??

  • Do bala sharks get more familer with thier owner as they mature. I have 6 of them in a good size tank and they scatter when im anywhere near the tank. I also have an african cichlid tank and an angelfish tank and the fish in both tanks swim right up to me wanting food. I actually hand feed my large angelfish like its a baby. But the Balas and I have 3 IDs and a clown loach in the same tank. They all scatter when I feed them or walk near the tank

  • @bostonred915 not really.. my balas still swim into the glass at the other end of the tank to avoid me, while the other fish come to the top to be feed..

  • @siy1982 tank to small then if they doing that

  • @bostonred915 my balas come right up to my hand/arm and give me fish kisses lol

  • I only have one bala shark right now, but when I'm done with my full tank setup I'll have 3 :) They are so cool.

  • mate i love the bala sharks, i also like your gold barbs. they fishe's are BIG. how long did it take for them to grow that big?

i just moved my 7 gold barbs and some shrimps from a 20gal tank to a 120gal tank. im looking around to stock my new tank with some bigger and mainly mid/top swimmers.

would you say the bala sharks are the ones to go for? ..

  • do balas need aquarium salt? anyone plz reply!

  • @FishJunkie124 no not realy but i have put a pintch or 2 of it after a water change in the new water and fyi they grow to get at least 1 1/2 feet long you should be fine in a 20 gallon for a long time

  • could i get some help i was thinking of getting a 75 gallon tank it has a rainbow shark but i was wondering could 2 of these guys be okay im also planning of putting some loaches in there and those pictus catfish in there but i could sacrifice the loaches or the catfish but what do you think? sacrifice does not mean kill just not get XD

  • Beautiful Tank and lovely Bala Sharks.

I was wondering... I have a 10 gallon tank and know that Bala Sharks usually require 30 gallons. Would it be bad if I had 2 Bala Sharks in my tank?

Should I upgrade to a new one?

    Thanks!

  • @MsCourtneyOlivia i'd upgrade in a month or 2 of owning them i have 2 bala sharks that are 5 inchs each my old ones got up to 10 inchs before dieing

  • anonymousguitarguy@ its takes around 1 year to 1.5 years for them to reach full size

  • @googeish A Bala doesn't go from a baby to 18 inches in 1 to 1.5 years, dude. That takes a number of years even though they do grow fast.

  • beutiful fish tank

  • I have a baby bala in a 5 gallon tank with 2 small fish . I know thats too small, i will be upgrading to a 20 gallon in a month, does anyone know how long until they get big?

  • The balas dont bother the neons unless they are showing signs of illness, the barra/gar was a different story though eating neons hole, untill the sucking loach killed him (by far the angryist fish in the tank).

  • Love your tank. Just added 2 balas to my 4 ft tank. Is that a siamese flying fox that appears from the bottom leftish at 33. Have just added a couple of those to mine also. I have panda corys and clown loaches also. Am excepting to lose my neons/cardinals as the balas grow. Have you had any probs with them and smaller fish. (again thumbs up for a beautiful tank with very healthy looking fishes) =)

  • I have a problem, my bala shark is small and young, and he tackles other fish in the tank, even the other bala sharks, how do i make him stop?

  • how many should live together because i bought 2 today

  • @georgeandisaac Generally 4-6 of them, they are schooling fish, who know if ou might have a male and female in the same tank, when they are matting it is awesome.

  • @xBlackxxxSheepx lol, oh shoot! Did I say 18ft? I meant 18 inches. Lol

  • @Weslo2 what are you talking about? The minimum for balas is 30 gallons because they don't normally exceed 6 inches in aquaria. 4 balas only with no other fish is good for a 30 gallon tank. In the wild, they reach 18 ft but in aquaria they rarely exceed 6 inches.

  • @jabe55 18ft? i know they're called sharks but that's a bit extreme... great whites grow to a maximum of 20ft so i think your information might be a little faulty :P

  • congratulations, gorgeous and beautiful aquarium fish.

    Hugs

  • Very nice set up... I am gonna be gettin my first tank and tropical fish soon.

  • did u have try feed ur balas sharks a feeder guppies before?

  • is that a fish in the back left corner ???? looks like a huge hill stream loach lol

  • @bennerix its a plec i think

  • Also at 0:59 what is that fish, it looks like a Sesame Algae Eater but i'm not sure. The fish passes tight past the Bala Shark, it has a gray body with a black stripe.

  • What's the name of the fish at 0:14 on the plant? It looks like a Cory Catfish but bigger and skinner.

  • more the bala shark grows less it looks like shark

  • love the video!! how many gallon is that?

  • awesome song and video

  • nice song to the fish

  • nice video

finally a video of someone with a proper sized tank for bala sharks

would rate 5/5 if rating system was still the old one

I'm going to be getting a 75 gal tank sometime soon, I'm looking forward to it

it's been years since I have had a home aquarium

  • Wow, nice tank

  • Very nice tank!
