@cpcheatsmonster I spelled it the correct way. They misspelled it on purpose in the movie because the day care had misspelled it! Will talks about this with his son in the movie. So on top of that, you still misspelled the incorrect spelling of it! So you're twice dumb! So fuck off! Moron!
@dudeofopinion yea ur right, wills character did not interest the client in any way, he has no time to go research on clients...n real life he'd have simply been rejected
You know... this is a great movie and a great story. But for all the professionals taking this as encouragement, you seem to be missing something important. He spends hours making these calls, getting nowhere and then finally gets a break, but he has to make an impossible meeting. Later on this guy tells him he never had any intention of doing business with him. Doing business like this keeps you running around stupid, jumping at every demand and never making sales.
you're missing the point. He was persistent, and persevered even though he didn't get anything... so he finally got something big. That's the real encouragement.
This is a Great Video Clip!!! It definitely gives an inside look at what it takes to make it in "Professional" Sales, if you are just starting out. The phone remains the best way to reach people ASAP! Of course, it also takes skill and practice to keep the door open.
I tried a job telemarketing for the summer... Every call I had like a mini heart attack. I kept worrying if I sounded professional enough. It had to be the worst job I ever had, just because of the amount of stress I was under everyday.
@laylomacias I have the ability to get good at a lot of things. But this was just a summer job, so I didn't stay there long. Believe me, I tried my hardest to improve. Everyone's not cut out for telemarketing. I don't even like talking on the phone in my leisure time...
otreview PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I am about to join a summer program doing door to door cold calling. I will be attempting to offer people a free home sercurity system in exchange for them doing some advertising for us by putting a sign in front of there house. Then I have to get them to sign a 42 month contract for monitoring fees.. I have been given some door aproaches to use but I'm not crazy about them. I don't want this to be a #'s game like it is for other reps.
Good video. E- marketing is the way to go. Homeassist.co Now thats a way to make a lot of money. It is an awesome business model and is working all over North America. It may not say so on their site but you should find out how it works, You can make thousands. just by getting good businesses aware of Home Assist. ask them how.
cold calling sucks.......it is totally diminishing...now that personal selling and trust-based selling has started to enhance, buyers don't want anything to do with cold calls..
@DivnaBiH Its a matter of perspective. Something that feels cold to you may be luke warm to them & may very well be what they are looking for. The ideal goal is to meet them in person & go from there but what you are calling them about could be something they both want and need but are tired of people calling them who don't know how to present themselves as an ethical problem solver with sound honesty & integrity
When you have something to move or people to move, you call for them, not for you.
I'm not sure if I got my point across as the way I intended. I understand one must make a call to a customer to build leads and so forth, but I believe business to business selling is more appropriate to schedule a meeting and conduct face to face conversations. This way relationships are built..
If you are selling to regular people like ourselves then cold calling is about the only way to go to capture a greater market in the least amount of time..
Also don't just assume you have to do what you are told as you were told to do it.
That's what mediocre managers (and teachers in school) do to teach mediocre employees to produce mediocre results for their mediocre company in a world of mediocrity filled with incredibly exceptional individuals who are lied to all their lives about how mediocre they are, how mediocre life is, and how mediocre they could ever hope to be.
this guy is a moron you dont ge married unless you are a millionaire or at least financially stable

Please check out my new song "The Pursuit of Happyness" on my channel right now dedicated to the movie Pursuit of Happyness.
It's hardwork and emotions.
Love.
Happyness is spelled with a Y, not an I.
