wow, it's one of my most favorite songs, to me it sounds true. Maybe this song is too plain for Daniel or it's bad when label presses you do something which does not come from within, it's not inspirational at all. I like his statement.
Not one album is better than the other. I mean, it is Daniel, Ben, Chris, Paul, Julian......people give them shit for bringing the Disso additions into the band but I don't see a problem with it. Silverchair will always grow and will always evolve. Not one album is the same. Been a fan since my childhood [and I'm 28]. Tomorrow EP was the first album I ever heard in 1994 ;)
@lorndarken i believe it is diorama era...from what i hear they recorded this for the record companies...something radio friendly for the u.s. during the diorama record...daniel hated recording it for that reason, but it sounds so damn good....i agree
it's a good song. i don't think he can write a bad song honestly. but i just don't feel the heart in it, which is what makes silverchair .. silverchair. it kinda sounds like the empty songs you hear on the radio. thats why i dont care what silverchair does, as long as dan stays true it will be amazing.
"I'd be more likely to shoot myself in the head or take a job waiting tables before I'd write a song like 'Ramble' again to appease someone at a label. we're not making music for labels or fans, we do it for ourselves, as a simple creative outlet, and hope people like it afterward" - Daniel John, 2007
@kisscatastrophe he's basically saying he was forced to do this music for the record label? Well, I'm sad to know about this, I love love love this song... too bad he didn't made this because he was feeling like it, he was pushed by the record label :(
For anyone who listens to this song, please note that Daniel hated this song and was pretty much forced to write/record it cause Atlantic big wigs didn't hear a single for diorama. You can hear it in the lyrics I think. Read it for yourself in the book "tomarrow never knows"!
daniel kindda look like different person now. before he was calm, cool, soft, and charming. thats why i love him so much.
but now he look like he want to show everybody that he was the man. not a pretty boy anymore. and i hate it. i love silverchair because the beautiful song, not a pop song in young modern. but istill love him
mmmm, dan is so stinking hot. sorry, just had to add that. none of my friends agree and my husband thinks i've gone mad, but oh well. i still think he's yummy. he he he ;)
The american label atlanic was asking for a "single" off the diorama sessions, so dan wipped this up.... i think he's happy it didnt make the album. Me too. Im not a silver chair fan but Diorama is an AMAZING! album.
I think my music diversity with these guys died with Young Modern....but im not gunna get into that...but the song at hand here is a pretty good song...
Young Modern is Young Modern. Silverchair are still legendary through this Diorama/Ballroom period, more than enough to subsist in our minds regardless of what they put out after...
Stop with this bullshit, young modern = Silverchair, silverchair is diversity, if u dont enjoy this u dont enjoy silverchair. Man look at the mix that is Neon Ballroon and it is one of my fave albuns, its great!
@BabyAndyCarson This song comes as a b-side on the Without You single (along with Hollywood and Pins In My Needles, if I'm not wrong), it's from the Diorama era. It's a shame it's not on the album by the way, it's probably their best song from this era :)
GOD BLESS YOU FOR POSTING THIS SONG HOLY FUCKING HELL ITS GREAT!!!!! anyone know any background on this song please let me know---example is it a b-side if so off what album
I feel in love with this song the first time i heard it, i love it. i love nearly all the b-side tracks from that album like asylum and pins in my needles they could totally relese a b-side album and i would totally buy it. thanks for putting it up

this would go in the diorama, his vocals, the arrangement and the melodies fits diorama perfectly in my opinion

I don't like it, it doesn't have the same sound as Silverchair did in the 90's. Not my cup of tea. BRING BACK OLD SILVERCHAIR.

its actually quite a good song, even though its kind of "not daniel" .
wasnt it something that he had to write this song to the american audience ? so they could start appreciating (spelling) his music ?

@jespero93 oh shut up. you don't have to go saying shit about America. American's aren't idiot mainstream lovers any more than anyone else is.
