To thunderbird- here's my "critique": 1:17- rider leg slip, horse front end very low/uneven, 2:08, rider insecure, hitting mouth, front legs extremely low/uneven (scary!), 2:41, too much for horse & rider- both look too green for each other, horse's legs far too low even for such height, 3:07/3:08- yes, a touch low but each leg is still high- good jumper just not "pretty", 3:26- WOW- nice, 3:41, too much horse for rider; not hunter form but not dragging too far. 3:50- can I try that?? Nice horse
I love watching horses jump. However, after studying them (yes, formal setting in college) and a life-long love of the animal and everything associated with them, I see in these pictures a mix of horses with good jumping skills and talents who are ridden appropriately and presented with reasonable obstacles. I also see over-jumped horses who do not have the skills to jump such high fences:one free-jump in particular drags a front leg in such a way that it is EXTREMELY dangerous to horse & rider
@multiRosemarie one more thing and if my horse was ever to get hurt i would do anything in the worl to make sure she gets better until i ride work or do ANYTHING with her.
@multiRosemarie People take good care of their horses and if their horse gets hurt they pull them from competition or work until they get better have the vet come check them ECT.......... Yes there maybe some cruel people but not allll..... And the horses are not forced to jump they like to my horse loves to jump she hates dressage and trails she loves to go gallop and jump if a horse didnt want to jump then they would refuse some horses are made for it and some are point blank....

They are NOT pushed beyond their limits! I`m a showjumper, and I jump these heights with my horse. But before i do that, i make sure my horse can do it! As do all showjumpers, so dont you DARE say we push horses further than they can go! YOU need a lesson in horsemanship love. It does NOT hurt them! And if you dont believe me, look at Pat Parreli, Monty Roberts and Kelly Marks. They jump their horse, wether its on the ground or while riding!

I just got my first horse named roscoe who is 6 and jumps like crazy so if anyone is interested we can head out to the trails there is alot by my barn.
But in the end I suppose I'm not, training and relationships with a horse are hard to find and build, which it seems you have, and I've had my fair share.

@HorseLover10672 yeah and guess qwhat? As much as we ride with our horses (not on our horses) we take care of them, and make sure theyre happy and healthy. If youre actually TRAINED, you know not to pull the cfrap out of your horses mouth with a bit. and we know how to use a cop right too. We dont use artificial aids unless we have to.
@HorseLover10672 I've trained two horses myself, to do english riding and jumping. I NEVER pull on their mouths and never have had to anyway. And I only use the crop when absolutely necessary, like when they are ignoring me. Are you saying that it's unnatural for horses to trot under saddle? People who ride western use spurs and crops too, a lot actually. Especially in gaming. The horses still absolutely love what they're doing, and don't look pissed off or frightened at all.

@HorseLover10672 your just being steriotypical, some of us actually do care for our horses, and we dont all use whips,spurs, pull on their mouth or use harsh bits, i use a snaffle on every horse i ride and only use the whip to very slightly enhance my legs on one horse which was broken in, incorrectly and was never right since. so infuture dont say things like that because its not 100% true.

gorgeous horse, you two look good together. and fluffypinknoodle yeah dee-rings are generally used for racing, but because they act quickly and are qiute mild, they're used a lot more often now a days.
do you know how high the biggest jump is on the video just wanted to know out of interest. Also I think he could compete with the pros easy and I think you would both do a great job of it!

Why do you use a dee-ring bit? i always use plain eggbutts or maybe a pelham if my horse is being stupid and throwing his head. I though the dee-rings were for racers, not jumpers?

i don't think you can judge somebody on whether they ride western on not. a nation can not be judge as a whole, individuals may be cruel, and some may not be but one person does not reflect the whole of a riding style etc etc.

@MedoraCowgirl exactly i HATE english jumping and showing cuz how they pull on there mouth and use whips to me i have a horse i broke myself without whips or a bit and he is my everything and i dont need to be cruel buy making them do things that are not natural for him. "If he dont want to do it u ask the wrong question are ask it wrong."Pat Parelli is my inparation and my hero cuz now my horse is two years old and i can stand up on his back and he trusts me. @HorseLover10672 yeah and guess qwhat? As much as we ride with our horses (not on our horses) we take care of them, and make sure theyre happy and healthy. If youre actually TRAINED, you know not to pull the cfrap out of your horses mouth with a bit. and we know how to use a cop right too. We dont use artificial aids unless we have to.

@HorseLover10672 I've trained two horses myself, to do english riding and jumping. I NEVER pull on their mouths and never have had to anyway. And I only use the crop when absolutely necessary, like when they are ignoring me. Are you saying that it's unnatural for horses to trot under saddle? People who ride western use spurs and crops too, a lot actually. Especially in gaming. The horses still absolutely love what they're doing, and don't look pissed off or frightened at all.

There is nothing wrong with english, If a person knows how to ride they wont pull on the horses mouth or use a crop unless absolutely necassary so whoever you've been watching... The need to get a better teacher... Dont make assumptions about other peoples riding ability!!! You have no idea what you are talking about..

I know and I've met so many of them... I've worked so hard to get my horses where they are... some were going to be put down cause they were "Unfixable" and now they are happily fat and sound and jumping 2' plus, and thats more then those little snobs can say, sure I'm english, but I'm not one of those barn brats, who brag about their world class horses

@HorseLover10672 your just being steriotypical, some of us actually do care for our horses, and we dont all use whips,spurs, pull on their mouth or use harsh bits, i use a snaffle on every horse i ride and only use the whip to very slightly enhance my legs on one horse which was broken in, incorrectly and was never right since. so infuture dont say things like that because its not 100% true.

Its just wrong i have seen horses scared for life because of being mistreated. . . I have had so many professial people tell me they have never seen such a fast and close bond between horse and man! it depends who you hang around with when you ride. i know how mean some people can be to their horses and yes it is mostly english but that doesnt mean everyone does it because 99.99% of riders of any discipline truely love their horses so stop making such a big deal out of this. it not everyone. both repspect their horses and their discipline so just accept it. you dont need to cut down others you know. and ur right Medoragirl, we all love our horses and thats all that matters.

oh n p.s. miss bitch my horses were all rescued too one was gonin to be put to sleep BECAUSE of english ppl who saw his as usless cuz he was getting too old to jump plus my other horse along with his mate were neglected with out food and water and shelter for 3 years of theyre life since my horse was 6moths old, hes 4 now and the greatest horse in the worl and you kno what he loves me too he does whatever he wants i dont make him do nething he hasnt thrown me or even tried he loves me

Why do you use a dee-ring bit? i always use plain eggbutts or maybe a pelham if my horse is being stupid and throwing his head. I though the dee-rings were for racers, not jumpers?
