Of course they are related, freeworld68, they are both Semitic languages; as in, the languages of the people of Sham, much like the following: Aramaic, Akkadian, Assyrian, Phoenician, Amharic, Tigre, Geez and of course Arabic and Hebrew. This is also why the word Antisemite ought to encompass all whom originate from Sham and not merely how it is improperly used today....
I think she is Israeli Arab - either Christian or Muslim. But in Israel, half of us Jews are also Arab (from Arab speaking countries), but we almost all forgot how to speak good arabic
Hi Maha, your lessons are amazing! I trying to learn little bit Arabic, but Hebrew sounds also interesting! It reminds me German pretty much somehow:-) Can you tell me please, how many languages do you actually know/speak? I am in love with Spanish, Greek, Italian, German, French, Swedish and Arabic ♥ (my mother-language is Czech :D ) Keep your work, your amazing teacher! Shukran/ Thanks/ Danke schön/ Tack/ Gracias/ Grazie/ Merci/ Děkuji!!!:-)
Maha you should write an Arabic-Hebrew dictionary! Do they even exist? You could write it in both languages then have an internationalized phonetic pronunciation of each word or term - the way you do onscreen. Not only would you be quite successful at it but you may even bring the two worlds closer together which is sorely lacking. I hope your intentions are only altruistic ones. Peace!
If I may be so bold, your video is Excellent, just one thing, with the A'l lo davar, I think the phrase you might be looking for in its English Translation is 'No Worries', or No problem...
I 've been following your arabic beginner lessons and i was surprise to see you teaching hebrew . Cool ! you 're a brilliant woman and speaks so many language . Keep it up maha .
I learn from your Arabic lessons and find it fun to watch your Hebrew lessons (since I'm my native language is Hebrew and there's nothing actually to learn - it's still fun). Subscribed.
I am learning both Arabic and Hebrew. Actually because the languages are related to each other it is not so difficult. It's especially easy to pay attention with such a beautiful professor! It is impossible to be distracted! :D !!
Go ahead Maha..i'm so proud of you..but I'm wondering why you teach Hebrew to foreigners i.e why would an Arab girl do that.. I think it's better to let the others know who we are,let them know about our culture, how nice, peaceful we are ..our civilization that extended to the beginning of our planet and the most important thing is our rights in our occupied land Palestine and the journey of torture of millions of Palestinian refugees, the suffering that we live every day by the Israel army ..e
interesting...in portuguese Toda/todo is all and rabo is ass....mmmmmmm all ass! thank u very much! IS interesting how hebrew really seems to have absolutely nothing in common with any european languages
@esmifrado Knowing Hebrew is actually necesary to understand many oddities of English. For ex. why do the P,S,T & C become 'f', 'sh', 'th' & and 'ch' when followed by an H? Because in Hebrew those letters have a hard and a soft sound depending on if you write them with a dot inside them. In English the letter is hard but is softened by the H. Hebrew is the root-language from which all others sprout.
@chodeshadar18 do you know that the names for america, canada, brazil etc are Hebrew ? Madeira's name comes from Arabic though, but Portugese don't know it...
hey maha how are you, i come from israel and i do speak both languages and im so impressed wow u are really good may i know where are u from cause really its so rear to find people who speak those 2 languages and off course an Arab...
One precision: when you say sli'ha, the letter 'het "ח" should be pronounced as the arabic ح and not خ as you said.. It's true that many and maybe most of the native Israelis pronounce it wrongly but people who learn the langage should know the difference, especially Arabic speakers. God bless you.
Maha you are adorable, teach us the phrases "arab love jews" "jews love arabs" and sure you will change the world. No doubt they are some very good hearted people on both sides like you. If you have a bank account I would really like to contribute to the time you are spending on line for us. @Jijou3 Yes, because there are a lot of "kh" sounds in German, French and Russian... NOT! Not to mention how ridiculous that statement is, since the largest proportion of Hebrew speakers are from Arab countries. Leave your politics out of language lessons. No one's forcing you to watch.
