  • I love this. I heard Alan Titmarsch play it on a Sunday evening sometime back. It is beautiful. Fucik is the German Souza! Or is Sousa the German Fucik!

  • @Vogler9 he is not german sousa, he is czech sousa, why are people ignoring are nation ? :) He was born in Prague, he was in the class of czech maestro Antonin Dvorak

  • It is delightful, very Viennois!

  • It is delightful, very Viennois!

  • So, who is "The Old Grouch" the song is titled after?

  • This guy wrote the clown song.

  • My god. That bassoon extreme accellerando made my head spin wildly! BRAVO!

  • I've heard a recording of this played only by bassoons. I don't remember if it was a quartet, a quintet or whatever, but it sounded cool (in a kind of goofy way). I can't find it for the life of me. I still have it recorded on cassette, but of course, it's degraded a bit over time.

  • what a fuck piece?

  • primaveral!!! bellisima!!

  • I LOVE THIS! now that i hear the bassoon solo i really want to play it now

  • Dem Wolkzgamineshaft!

  • Has anyone heard of his marinarella overture? What do you think of it's ending, those of you who have?

  • Love it. Simply love it.

  • Hehéééééé funny :D

  • grande pezzo

  • The flashy ending of this always puts a smile on my face!

  • That smile might get bigger when you hear Entrance of the Gladitors.

  • i love this piece!!!!!!!!!

  • der alte bumbar : philarmonic orchestra of tchecoslovakia direction vaclav newmann with jiri formacek basson solo ( an TELDEC LP of 1978 )

  • This man is a genious!

  • Is it just me, or are Fucik's pieces hard to come by?

I can't really find much of his work anywhere!

  • unfortunately, there are only a few recordings available...

  • Is there anywhere I could possibly buy a few of his pieces? (on disc or download?)

  • Google for EAN 0809274875228 and/or Entry of the Galdiators. It's a CD I can recommend.

  • @devonrose742 I thought so too, but there are quite a lot marches of his hand here on youtube! Start by clicking on the related videos on the right (winter storms, marinarella, etc.) en then there will appear more and more of his pieces! Good luck.

  • cool, just heard this on classic fm played by liverpool royal phil, awsome. then i cant find it anywhere but here! excellent, thank you

  • I have been looking for this! I had it on an old CD but it got so scratched up I can't listen to it anymore and on a new Fucik CD there was no Bear! Thank you!
