I remember when i gone to watch the special edition back in the 97. I was so excited to watch this movies again 20 years later and remember all the theatre whistling, screaming and clapping when Darth Vader told the truth to Luke about his relation. What a days
on the one hand ppl dislike the changes. ok fair enough. on the other hand it did create a whole new generation of Star Wars fans so thats a good thing
When this came out in '95 again I wasn't very familiar with Star Wars and had only seen pieces of the original Star Wars and some of Jedi on television. I went to go watch Empire by myself and had absolutely no idea what it was going to be about. It blew me away. And because I had never seen it before the plot twist of having Darth be Luke's father completely shocked me (not to mention the scene of Luke getting his hand cut off!)! it was a great movie moment in my life!
Regardless of the questionable changes, these trailers make me excited and proud to be a Star Wars fan. I get choked up watching them, and wish I could see them on the big screen once more. Thank you for posting this!
@NickMichalak Han Shooting second is stupid, but the addition of awesome CI effects are great. They just added some more sci fi exposition and since everyone still remembersthat awesome cantine scene becasuse there were so many awesome creatures, so that`s cool and so are bigger explosions, so overall they are food, I also don`t like the CGI Sarlac beac thing, but that`s pretty much it.
@NickMichalak whether u regard it as agood thing is a matter of opinion but regardless u do have the oppertunity to see it on the big screen as all 6 films r getting a chronological (from a story point of view) yearly 3d release starting in 2012 and ending in on the 40th anniversary of the orignal film in 2017. so btwn 2015 and 2015 u cud see the original films but with the special edition changes, 3d, and probably any other changes Lucas deems fit. If u wanted 2 u cud even see the prequels 2
@227060 Well, that's a problem for me. I HATE 3D! I have yet to see a single film where the 3D works right, and these have all been films natively shot in 3D. I can't stand sitting in a theatre suffering through a technology that never seems to work right. There's always a misalignment everytime I watch this stuff. The 3D is a detractor from me seeing these theatrically. I can't wait for this 3D trend to die.
@NickMichalak I agree with u, I was just pointing out the potehntial of seeing them in theatres again. I mean Iv yet to see the original in the cinema so i might bear the 3D. Every time i push the boat out 2 3D i get burned, the last film I saw was Thor. decent movie, best 3D in it? the effing end credits. WHY. Avatar i guess u cud c in £D just so u cud say u did, but £D really works best for theme parks. I remember seeing Clash of the Titans, the mast on the boat was 3D. the fucking MAST
Take note that the close up shot of Luke at the end of the trailer in the carbon freezing chamber just before he walks up the stairs to meet Vader is reversed to how it appears in the actual film. I wonder why they did that?
