I too used to see Root & The GB Blues company in St Albans in the early 80s. They were outstandingly good. I've just posted 9 live tracks on YouTube from that period all featuring Root in an amazing performance at the Knebworth Jazz Festival 1982 - search 'Root Jackson'. Used to watch Root with GB Blues Co in the early 80's at the Adelaide Wine bar in St. Albans. What a guy!

Used to watch Root at The Red Lion, Brentford, back in the 1980s, when he was fronting The GB Blues Co (who were The Kinks, barring Ray Davies). A great singer; glad to see he's still going strong
