noo.. I fucking easily hit for over 1100+ with Gekko every time on my sam... and Im a taru.. Sam's ws are based on STR, get a good STR build and merits, and sams become the best DD's. Drg's, Drk's, War's may be able to do over 1500+ but Sam's get TP 3times as fast so BAM

Rng and Sam do take more hate for their dmg. Ppl would think that the rng is the highest dd cuz he do one big ws and a barrage and take alot of hate but most often hes not the highest dd, parse has final say. Sam can do alot of damage though; with the soboro they were, IMO, undeniably the king of dds when the first 2handed update came out. After that was fixed though, i went back to preferring mnk for most exp and drk or war for most zergs.

Sam was actually ment and made for tanking as well as DD, i plaied FFXI for 7 years and SAM was my 2nd favorite job, hence why it's AF gives Enmity, it can were heavy armor. I did research on it, also NIN was ment to be a DD not a tank at all, hence why they modded the Utsu to take Enmity away.
good job on this. samurai's are very good damage dealers and not just good with skillchains but overall damage dealing. I liked the music in this as well.

basically if you do a weaponskill, then another one within 4+- seconds you can get an extra damage bonus called a skillchain. Depending on which weaponskills you mix you can make different ones, that is what i am doing throughout the video

lol i am in the process of making a third samurai tribute, the one im making is gonna have some pvp in it, some other solo SCing (trust me i got some good ones with weapon switches and everything) and a maat fight at the end lol
lol, i have a sam, i use a polearm (engetsuto to be exact), an it puts me @ a 5 hit 100% tp build, with rng sub, i can easily spit out 4-5 ws's in under a minute an destroy the dmg on those that aim for all that str build, sam with store TP + dex is a nasty thing to see

75sam 75mnk Odin server and Sam since update are the best DD in the game atm, had a tach: Jinpu spike for 2038... yes DRK and DRG can spike for that but I can do another WS in 6 hits... Death befor defeat!!!
I usualy out damage a Sam/War unless he double attacks on a weapon skill, but besides the double attacking weaponskill i never get out damaged by a /war as /thf, doing constant 1500 gekkos+ on kirin is nice^^.
ok Sams are DD lol when u hit an it++ mob for 150-200 a shot and then Ws for 500-700(no sata just hasso and or berserk) and u can solo light with yourself i think that makes u a DD lol oh lets not forget there tho only job who can make a compound Skill chain with them selves ^^ (thats T1 into T2 skill chains)

hume is a mix between elvaan and mithra, in a samurai point of view, elvaan have highest str but low dex, mithra have high dex but low str, hume balances both out and has about an even amount of str and dex, which leaves the player open to add to whatever stat he/she pleases
lol supercarpet...maybe? at 30 SA enpi does more than 200+ damage i havent seen another job do that in jungle party and your forgetting SAM can do 2 WSs per fight..and at 75 isnt a maybe 1500+ gekkos
lol if you look at my ffxi collab you can see me solo transfixion with a polearm jumpless... i know about it i just could never get the timing down... I finally got it tho.. its easier with shorter weaponskill animations that go first lol... but its still doable i know ^-^b
drg/rdm is ok, but i think drg/sam 60+ is better for pvp.. drg/rdm is really for soloage i believe,
im only 37 drg but i never really go /rdm... i usually just pull out my npc and have her as healer lol but ive used it for BCNM and its really decent :D atleast for that purpose

I used to play FFXI as a Samurai back when it first came out for about a year on the Seraph server. They didn't recognize samurai as a DD there either. I often found myself being dropped for a Dragoon, though I did once or twice get a party with a Dragoon and did great, what with both of us put in the skillchain using Penta Thrust. I used both Polearms and katana the same. Also, fighting solo I liked to use Ninja as a subjob, dual-wielding scimitars.
Does anyone know the ability used in this video when the character disappears for a second and strikes? I'm a 72 SAM/36 THF but i havent gotten to play with the new SAM update =(.

had to cut the last one shot there compound ws is:
Tachi:Jinpu > Tachi:Jinpu = Detonation(T1) > Tachi:Jinpu = Scission(T2)

they're almost equal to Hume, with slightly more dex and slightly less HP (not sure for the HP, but I know Hume compensate for the mithra's dex)

It's a TP-builder, and as far as I know (only 30RDM, unlocking COR soon) TP means WSs, WSs mean big damage.
