  • Why has music like this been reduced to being conceived as elevator music or pigeonholed as bluegrass style? I love it. And this stuff is way before my time.

  • Here they are with sugar timAH! lol

  • @caleb6868 Laughin right with ya. Break outAH the bubble machineAH boysAH!!..........for those who don't know, bubbles were a big part of this show!

  • @mrbabblehead lol

  • they look asian!! d^.^b

  • @LoVePeAcEHaPpYnEs Aisian????? I've heard thousands of comments, but never heard that one !

  • @LoVePeAcEHaPpYnEs They're part Mexican (and Irish).

  • Thank you for posting all of these - what a treasure. Its fun seeing these young ladies through years too.

  • Their harmony beautiful plus they are much better looking than the McGuire Sisters.

  • @BARRYKATE1 No need to be mean. Everyone is blessed with beauty and talents. The McGuire sisters were beautiful and talented in a very diffferent way.

  • @calihartley2010 Certainly agree with your comments on the McGuire sisters. I just simply prefer the Lennon sisters. No offense intended.

  • @BARRYKATE1 I too love the Lennon sisters.

  • @BARRYKATE1 , They're way better than The McGuire Sisters. The TMS had a harsh trashy sound

  • If women were like this now I'd want to get married. Women now a days...forget it.

  • @TheJcp1234 amen to that

  • Having no sisters, only 5 brothers, I always wanted them to be my sisters, especially Peggy, the youngest I believe.......Loved them!

  • @Shortysmoma Almost.... Peggy is the next to the oldest... Janet is the youngest ! But all are only a few years apart.

  • @boatracer39

    Kathy is the youngest.

  • @skipper8257 Nope Janet is the youngest ,born in 1946.... Kathy ..born 1943~!

  • "This song was made so very popular by our good friend and golfing partner, Jimmie Rogers" - or so says Lawrence in the intro. Oh really? Did the McGuire Sisters not have something to do with it, having a million-selling, no. 1 record of it in 1958?

  • Watch the trip down the steps! These outfits are the height of sheer sophistication.

  • Gotta love the way Lawrence talked. "Sugar-time-uh".

It's usually unnecessary to say the Lennon Sisters look beautiful -- might as well say the sky is blue. But wow, they look (and of course sound) absolutely amazing here.

  • so pretty! =D i love their hair. =D

  • Back when women took pride in themselves -- dressed beautifully and all -- and singers could actually stay on tune.

  • Pure angels

  • it seems like one of the sisters was always pregnant. Obviously this was not one of those times. I love watching the Lawrence Welk show on PBS. It is interesting to see how members of the band and singers changed over time. there was always someone leaving and someone being added.

  • As usual, the Lennons do a wonderful job here. Their harmonizing has always been totally perfect. This song was a big hit in 1958 by the McGuire Sisters, and has always been a fav. of mine. Hearing the Lennon Sisters sing this is a treat! They are my fav. girl group of all!!

  • AY CARUMBA!!!

  • 0:25 to 0:50 - subtle hip movements, enough to send a grown man into raptures!!

  • i remember watching these young ladies grow up on the show...the lennon sisters

very beautiful singers, well dressed, well mannered, never heard anything bad about them in the news...

  • This was a hit in the UK in the fifties for Alma Cogan!

How refreshingly nice to see these beautiful women in their wonderful gowns, sporting refined hairstyles and not a sign of piercings, tattoos, tracksuit bottoms and baseball caps! A time when women took time to look feminine!

  • We're singing this in show choir! :) lol

  • My family used to watch the Lawrence Welk show every week when I was growing up. My favorite thing about the show was the Lennon sisters. Even as a little kid, I always though they were so pretty.

  • Damn women used to be so beautiful

  • Especially these 4 women !!!!

  • What a great show and a great era. I have always loved these performances, even when I was a kid, watching with my grandparents. We used to be able to get the re-runs on our local PBS afiliate. I wish that someone would bring back that old format and shoot it with the new high definition video system. That would be awesome. I'm just not sure that there would be a real market for it though. Now where's my millions????

  • I recently saw the Lennon Sisters (Kathy, Janet and Mimi) in concert in Ohio. They sang this song in their show. It was great to see and hear them. It was a stand up and cheer performance! They were great!

  • A very elegant look for the sisters. It's funny--when I was kid and this show was in its original run I considered performances like this impossibly white bread. Now I look at these clips and feel such nostalgia for a bygone time in mine and my family's life. My grandmother loved this show. I didn't get it then, but I do now...know what I mean?

  • i do, but dont tell anyone

  • I like the Lennons version of this song. Dianne, Peggy, Kathy, and Janet always look great!

  • They look perfect.

  • @nauort23 WOW!!! Who gave me 301 thumbs up?!?!? I owe it all to Kathy Kathy Kathy...

  • Oh... This is a good one, love their dresses!

  • I'll let the viewers settle this one!

  • lol You know better.
