Sorry to be the crushing blow but JD was a capitalist more than the environmentalist. Funny how we draw these innocent illusions of beauty and nature, all the while JD was being cited for his fuel reserves (which were very UN-environmental).
Could anyone imagine going camping -w- John & he takes his guitar out & plays, sings, anyone who was fortunate enough to have done that -w- him must have some awesome memory's,I miss him....
I miss Olivia in the background. Olivia's voice is so much better and made this song something special. Her voice was so angel and John and Olivia should've done more together.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. A friend sent me the link. This is quite a touching and beautiful performance. Top notch. John is not forgotten; I grew up with him. :) (I'm 38.)
Timeless. Thank you John for all that you gave to humanity, your memories will be with us forever. You made this world a far,far better place. May you rest in piece.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Lets not forget that John was also prosecuted for drunken driving, left a huge carbon footprint as he flew planes, Cut up a log cabin possession when he was cross one day with his wife Annie, He was married twice also.
he was the first artist who inspired other artists to think of the world, nature, people living around the world with hunger. who cares if he was drunk-driving, or used his plane so that he can get little closer to the nature or had two wives. He might have done 1-2 bad things where as he has given 1000s to the world. what matters is that his music full of soul which reaches out to others and connect them without a doubt.
Im only 33 and I listen to this music..why cant todays young generation listen to this type of music, they only want to listen to the crap out there.I have ever 500 record albums all from the 70s
I understand where you're getting your impression of today's "young ones" from, but that doesn't hold true for all of us. I personally love John Denver, Joan Baez, Gordon Lightfoot.... they are the real musicians.
duckscanada I am 37 years old and I do listen to John Denver's music because it is 100% better then anything that is currently on the radio bar none....It ain't even close....I am also a big Elvis Presley fan too......John Denver is a legend and one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time......Period......
I agree, I'm 31 and I listen to John Denver, James Taylor and other folk/ country artists.... mostly because I'm an acoustic guitarist. That's what drives me to these songs.
@duckscanada you say we only want to listen to our music, im 14. i loved this song. and country roads is simply amazing. we arnt all head bangers. i like that kind of music. but i also enjoy these softer song also.
Its crazy because I saw him in concert right before he died in Portland. This video reminds me of that.

John Denver was in his very best voice for this 1995 concert. I like the increased tempo of this version too.
Only wish Olivia Newton John could have been doing back up vocals.

Without the glasses John Denver is missing something the wire framed glasses were his biggest trademark.

Little Johnny Dussledorf.
I used to play with him on base and never imagined what he was hiding behind his nerdie reserved self.
I was one of his BIGGEST fans for years before I realized who he was.
Odd how life plays out. He was always was a DEEP Quiet kid.
HIS LYRICS ARE AWSOME. I CANT PICK A FAVORITE BECAUSE I LOVE THEM ALL.
