Very nice bags and baskets. How do you do the contrasting trim? Do you stitch up the sides using single crochet? The sides look great. I haven't seen that look before.
@virginiaomalley I use different patterns and stitches -- I have stitch libraries in different books and publications in addition to patterns I have bought or found online. Some of the designs I just put together - combinations of different stitches -- and some of them are actually patterns for bags or baskets. None of them are all in one place, though!!
@Kathylovestar -- I crocheted it - with a variegated cotton worsted yarn - I made the pattern up as I went along, using a combination of different crochet stitches.
For the one I did in Thread Lace - the Shaded Blue one - yes I used a fabric stiffner after putting it on a round piece - and then let it dry.
The ones I did in yarn - and the small thread ones that are not really lace, but closely crocheted in waves - are not stiffened at all -- the way that they come out when done, they hold their shape without any type of stifffening.

Hi... I just reviewed your bags and baskets and would like to ask a question. Do you use a fabric stiffner for the baskets?
