this cooler is huge i dont see a need for it the vendetta cost $25 and keeps my core 2 quad at under 50 celcuis the v8 is the only one i would get why would you buy a 2 pound cooler??????????????????????????????????
@PCWizKid the thermal grease you used, and the one you use in your other videos, how does it compare to Arctic Silver 5? And which thermal grease will be best for overclocking? a chart or comparison of some sort would be nice, though i cant seem to find any on the interwebs..
Hi, PCWizKid! I want to ask you. How can I install Windows XP on SATA hard drive? Now I have Vista on my computer. When i am booting, it's not appear anything. Sorry about my bad english. Can you make a tutorial about it. A lot of peoples have this problem, and need one very good tutorial to resolve this problem. Please, help! You are my last chance to solve this problem. Please. I have Windows XP for sata, but it's not working!
I never used CPU Cooler before and I am just wondering what do fans are supposed to do? Exhaust? or is it In-taking? If two fans, 1 exhausting and 1 in-taking?
Fans on heatsinks (coolers) are used to push or pull air trough hot fins to remove heat (position of fan/fans depends on the design of cooler). Case fans put produced hot air from heatsinks out of the case, or provide fresh air in the case.
Yes that's right, but it is also more expensive. The thermal transport of Nickel is sufficient enough for the fins, the heatpipes are copperbased for faster dissipation;-)
@SungSamuel1003 Right, I am consistent in all my tests witha ambient room temperature of 20C with a CLOSED case (real world test). Not like all those other websites that review their Coolers in a open case.
I've been looking at a CPU cooler for a while now and I still think that the Prolimatech is my best bet. Every review I see it's one of the best at keeping temps down.
i never realized how silly cpu cooling have got over the years. i have fan similar to that design and it's a freakin' dust magnet, wish these designers gave out cleaning tips
Hey, I got a AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE and was thinking about O.C'ing to around 4.2GHz, Is this a good cooler to get, or should i go with the Coolermaster v8?
@servertot15 from the website I go to (frostytech) they rank them as keeping the CPU exactly the same at 18.4 C above ambient. The only difference is the F101 is rated at 47.5 DB (loudness) and the CM is rated at 52.6 DB. Hope that helps in your decision!
"Don't assume it'll do that." Well... A stock Celeron D cooler didn't overheat yet and my temps are the same and I never knew I had to flatten it (Since Arctic Silver never said you had to)....
umm... those temps don't seems so great... but then i'm an AMD guy and don't really now what Intel temps should be. Maybe if you slap two hi speed yates on it it will work better.
Can you give figures to back that? The design seems pretty similar. But I feel that way about all heat pipe/aluminum fin heat sinks. But please, explain why you feel it's better. Simply saying it doesn't make it so (and please, don't just say "Well I did a review on it, go check it out!" because that seems lazy to me.) I have a CM Hyper 212+ and I don't see this being worth the cash to upgrade. But as I said, all heat pipe/ aluminum fins seems the same to me.
Sorry to double post, but I just checked frostytech's website. And the CM 212 Hyper+ actually cools better, by there testing methonds (125W thermal test, CM's cools at 14.4 C at 50.1 DB, GlacialTechs cools at 17.1 C at 47.5 DB.) Just wanted to post that up and say that different testings methods will yield different results. Not bashing PCWizKid but just stating my opinion and comparing methods. Cheers!
@Zillerz3 It honestly depends on your setup. On frostytech's site (which I really find to be thorough) they rank the 212 better for 775/1156 (85W & 150W CPU's) and the v8 is better for AMD platforms. How they came to the conclusion is interesting, so google it. Personally I like the 212 cause it's cheap and well made. And you can always put a second fan on it for a push/pull configuration. I find some reviewers test methods to be flawed though. But to each their own.
@GreeneMan510 I think not. They compared it with the F101 under my setup? I agree the CM 212 is better than the GlacialTech IGLOO but when I tested it it was NOT better than the F101 sorry.
wow this intels are hot. I remember when I was runing 4.00 with my phenom II 965 125watts edition max temp at full load was 52c and my voltage was highe than yours in this video. it was 1.48 So that means eaither this cpu is too hot or this cooler sux.
If you have the money, I'd go with a Swiftech Apogee GTZ block with a Corsair D4 pump and a Black Ice GTX 360 radiator. You can throw in a reservoir too if you want, or if you want to save money you can simply make a fill port out of extra tubing.
I want to know.
