guys im 14 and im REALY enjoying this sport and i was wondering where should i start ? ;') also im Seriosly Good With mini dirt bikes and bikes. just wondering where to start plus my dad ainta fan so i have to work alone :S any help ?
@MrWowgoon .... look to one of the shops in your area holding an open house ride day ... get your dad to go with you .... if he resists .... tell him this is something you really want to explore ... thats what dads are for ..... your 14 ... he is runnin out of time to do cool things with his kid ... hopefully he understands that by now ... the shop will help you with a starter bike .. buy a good used trail bike to start .. you can upgrade easily and affordably at any time.
@pasturebedtime after you get used to shifting and standing/ squeezing with your knees in sweepers and other techniques and want to race get a 125 cause most tracks stop 85 at 15. but go with what this dude said.
my son is 10 and raced his new 85 sx in first 85 cc races this weekend ... he is 4 foot 6 and 75 LBs .... you do the math ... he hauls on it .... but his feet are blocked on the starts ... and lowsiding in an off cambered corner is a challenge he has overcome ...
if you can ride .... by the 250 .... but get a 250 F .... someone can work your suspension to work ... if your going 2 stroke get an 06 yz 250 or newer ... they are bullet proof and have a great fork ...
i know this is kinda random but im 5'6 and weigh about 113 pounds but does anyone have any suggestions on a bike I should get, because where i live i have to order my stuff.
@skate1234555a depend on what kind of riding you want to do and your experience you are big enough to ride a few different bikes but be careful you don't get something that is too much ... some of the race bikes and or bigger trail bikes might be too much ... dont buy a knock off ... stick with the main brands and buy used if you can .... you will probably change bikes a few times before you find the rite one ... good luck ... its a great sport ...
@baseball415 thks ... he is doing well .... he just got his first 85 sx and will race both classes outdoor this weekend ... check out his other vids ... they grow up pretty quick
I'm getting a kawasaki kx65 kx110 or a honda crf80 ktm was on my list but they took the 65 xc trail bike off the market im not gonna race im gonna ride the trails and have some fun
@brettwill87 i ment klx srry i was in a hurry im 12 my friend got his crf 80 up 2 50mph i just want a bike good for my size (around 28 inch seat hight) that will go faster the a bat outta hell with a manual clutch what u reccomend (dont say ktm i know they r the best but they r not im mah price range) i would appreiciate the help
if you are a new rider .... get something for the trails to start ... if you buy it rite you can get your money back when you are ready for more bike ... the 65's are really off or on so the trails wont be that much fun unless you can stay on the pipe .... no fun in the technical sections ..... if you are tall enough ... get a suzuki 125 or a ttr 125 .... the honda's are heavy .... but will hold their value as there are so many entry riders out there, the 65 xc is an sx with handguards andstand
@pasturebedtime i cant fit a 125 i need around a 28'' seat hight and ktms are damn expensive i think i'll get the light kawasaki klx 110 and put a manual clutch kit on it :P that would be great cuz i know those 110's haul ASS and are great starter bikes thanks 4 ur help
ya ... a small wheel 150 might work but it would be a whole different level than the than the klx 110, 80 or even ttr 125 and the honda will have much better suspension than all (noting the 09 65sx has great suspension but is a smaller lighter bike in a different class)
@MMktm65 up here alll the 65s are in the 65 class, the 85s in the 85 class ... age groups are broken up ... then supermini up to 105 and including 150 4 strokes
ya ... I had an enduro 80 .... dont think I ever changed the oil .. the thing ran forever .... he now has two of these .... different times for sure .... oh well .. keeps him out of trouble ...
ya ... he is a bit spoiled .... but you want your kids to race on the best technology as it is a dangerous sport so now he has two ... just got his 09 .... a back up race bike is nice to have so his 07 will now be his practice bike ....
it was brand new out of the box on this day .... he had never ridden a clutch, geared, rear break bike, he weighed 40 lbs .... no surprise they both looked stiff ....
sometimes not on a 2 stroke u really wanna keep the rpms high because u hit that powerband u really wanna stay on it especially out of turns and over whoops.
it is in Kamloops B.C. Canada ... this vid is from early last Spring when he moved up from his 50cc .... no leaves on the trees ... riding is pretty darn epic up here ... off road and mx ... national round is scheduled next year 09 at this track (he is not on the track in this vid of course)
thks for the supportive comments .. he can now touch the ground and is really riding well .. take alook at the 09 Ktm 65 ... Totally new bike and is built on a redesigned platform and suspension including a proper inverted front fork
Where are you riding at

what kind of oil do you use and what ratio?
elcanapas11 2 years ago
synthetic in both crank and fuel ... fuel at 40 to 1 and vp race gas mixed with 94 octane
pasturebedtime 2 years ago
thx men
elcanapas11 2 years ago
crank and fuel? does it have an oil pump?
surprised u can use such low octane as 94, would have thought 98 at least.
the lowest we can even get is 95.
