I travelled along the Transib but nobody gave me vodka. Actually I didn't drink vodka in the five weeks that took me journey...

some tips HOW TO DRINK VODKA

1. NEVER mix vodka with beer!!! champaign, wine... at least if you wanna have hangover next morning, and ruin your party and the next day

2. you CAN increase "alcohol by volume" you can start with beer, or wine and finish with vodka, but NEVER vice versa

3. EAT!have smth fatty to eat, for example, meat, russian salad, even soup. Pickles are good, but only right after the shot. Then, EAT!!!!

4. know your LIMIT!!!

very primitive author's comment under this video - so you had a booze with some Russian skinheads all the way through Siberia (or maybe they were simple Russian bandits out of politics - that is how they look to me as I am Russian and I can tell some types)- and now you call Russian Trans-Siberian express a vodka train....well, for an alcoholic every dinner is a booze, like for some other types every woman is a hooker and every corner of a street is a toilet...

Does it have to be Vodka? It says you have to buy Vodka in order to ride the train, I cannot handle drinks such as Vodka but I can handle Wine or Champagne. By the way , beautiful country and scenery.

the reason why russians are known to drink vodka is because it was their way of socializing/hanging out with their family or friends back in the days, when there were no towne centers, entertainment areas, etc. they would go to their friends houses and chat as they drank vodka

turns out between europe and Australia with a connecting flight from beijing its actually cheaper/ competitive with flying to europe from Australia. Me and my friend where wondering if the atmosphere was the same on the vladivostock train as the beijing one?

Theres 2 trains from moscow to beijing. one chinese and one russian

The train on this video is not the vladivostok train. it goes from Moscow to Irkutsk. Its called "Baikal"

I went to russia back in 2001 with a group that included a black classmate. Although seen as an oddity by some Russians, She was never hassled. Of course in our entire time in Russia, we only saw two other black people and they were at the airport as we were leaving.
