  • awesome music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is superby crispy

  • Thanks for uploading! What's the name of this piece? is it traditional? Cheers!

  • @jomaugar Wrong Foot Forward (Set of Wrong Foot Forward and Apollo Bay Reef) from the album Haven.

  • @zsyrinx THANKS!

  • Music straight from the heavens!

  • Thank you!!! that's wonderful

  • You almost don't notcie it's in 7/8, it feels so natural.

  • Human music at it's best :-)

  • Bravo!

  • Amazing. 5 Stars

  • Amazing stuff.

  • who knows which is the final touch of this guitar?

Quien sabe cual es la afinacion de esa guitarra???

  • Quizá sea DADGAD: RE LA RE SOL LA RE. es habitual en la musica irlandesa y folk por extension, en la buena claro... tiene un sonido muy potente.

  • @Cazabisarmes I find it works best in DADGAE, probably can do it on both though...

  • "other side music" that crossed to this world...through the heavens gate!!!...sounds so perfectly relaxing...

  • What is the name of this song?

  • Wrong Foot Forward

  • That's a God's band! Irish music with jazzy colors...

  • irish music at its best!

  • this is what youtube is for!!!

    immense!!!

  • Poor John Joe Kelly, he's wearing a wrist band?? All this Bodhran drumming must be killing his hand.

  • Die Gitarre am Anfang ist genial.

  • it´s music directly from the soul, and directly to the same place.

  • This is a great video!! Love it!!

    Carline)i(

  • How do you know what a bodhran is if you talk about "the bodhran player" instead of John Joe Kelly? JJK equals bodhran!

  • thats in my school :P

  • I love all of you, especially sarah mmm

  • love this group. saw them in St.Louis couple years ago. hope to see them again!

  • Yep they were well good at my school! miss macleod (my music teacher) said they were rubbish and i believed her! she then said actually they were brilliant! I didn't get a chance to see them myself as i was in sociology at the time which was boring... i needed them to cheer me up!

  • they are playing at my school on thurs lol

  • FLOOK! MY LOVE FLOOK! I love the tunes

  • i'm hoping they'll be coming back to belgium soon... i missed them last time

  • discovered this music tonight, do you remember your first kiss? I might be older but there are still thrills the road is to be travelled..wonderful..

  • The bodhrain player is soooooo cute! Saw Flook in Atlanta last St. Patrick's Day.

  • they're all cool, i like how the guitarist always has his head down on the guitar body and the flute players stands on one foot

  • Pray for John Joe Kelly that the 'Carpal Tunnel Syndrome' doesn't set in and shorten his brilliant career before the world gets to enjoy his mastery of the 'skin'. JJK gets top billing on DaFlikkers.

  • John Joe Kelly is wonderful....amazing....

  • They are really amazing live - just go and see them!!!!

  • They're playing an Irish Rucenica! Then some reels.. I like the slow mo shots...

  • one of the MOST amaZing compositions

    i've ever heard.

thanks 4 sharing lovely Yogy bear ;)

  • awsome!@@@!!!!!!!!

  • It is modern. They are taking the music to the next level. Trust me, they have a great following of musicians who are beginning to follow in their lead. Their arrangements are amazing and complex and sophisticated.

  • can i just say to the person that said this had no 'soul' if you see them live then it really does and also Sarah is my aunty...and some of these tunes have really sad and amazing stories behind them....dont slag them of!

  • sois los meyores puxa flook

  • this is pure art.

  • Beautiful music!

  • HEY! guess what!! Sarah (flute in this video)is my aunt!the bestest aunty ever ever ever!!!

    =]

  • Beautiful playing but it strikes me as modern narval darvel. The tunes don't go anywhere. You certainly couldn't whistle them. I doubt this will survive and beplayed in fifty years. It's very idiosyncratic- neither classical nor trade. Full of technique but not much soul.

  • Sorry mate, but must disagree, I whistle these tunes all the time. They also mostly follow classic irish lines i.e. jigs, reels, hornpipes, marches etc. Brian uses a lot of ornamentation which can make the tune sound more complex than it really is.

  • Questa canzone è stupenda, Sarah mitica, John Joe il migliore!

  • I just come from Galicia to heard this group and others! Ortigueira 2007!!!

  • i heard this live at our local folk fest...flook are amazing!!!

  • I love this SONG!!!! I love this BAND!!! FLOOKINGGG!!!

  • Great! I love bodhran thing!

  • I like it....

  • john joe kelly is a god!

  • don't like how she copies the whole jethro tull stage thing, apart from that it's ok- would choose dedannan over it anyday

  • Great,

Weird how I came across this video, I live in Cornwall!

  • That was fantastic! It was the first time I've ever heard them, but they are amazing!

  • fucking brilliant

  • Right now...and 8 month ago, for me!

    I Love,really love this album! it's wonderfull!!!

    Thanks!

  • Probably the best Flook video on Youtube, just a shame the sound goes a bit wonky once the fast tune kicks in.

The set is 'Wrong Foot Forward' from 'Haven', in case anybody who didn't know was wondering. If they were, they should go out and buy that album right now.

    RIGHT NOW.

    I'm watching you.

  • brian, what are you doing with me???

    ;o)

  • i love flook! i play the flute myself and i met them whe they did really small gig in a pub and they decicted a song to me.

  • Wow.... such a good band coughMetThemDancedOnStageWithThemcough

  • *cough*KnownThem12YearsSinceBeforeTheyWereFlookAndLearntFromOneOfThemSinceIWasAChild*cough*

But they still never fail to amaze me. Everytime i hear them their sound is tigher and has evolved, become more sophisticated and changed developmentally. Listen to Flatfish of Flook Live and then Haven or Rubai and the difference is obvious. Its simply an amazing and wonderful sound that's got better and better with time.

  • You're right, this is the best one on the site, despite the stutters. Three guesses as to who this is...? Clue: I just awoke from a one-man Jim Garrahy's chocolate fudge orgy. As if the name wasn't enough!

  • cool, which one taught you?

  • the big beautiful baldy, or rather the short blondy, and he still does.

  • wow! *burning jealousy*

  • Not too often you hear trad in 7/8. ;p

  • true sadly its really good though, i do it wi a band

  • I would consider flook a departure from what is usually considered "Traditional". But regardless I think they're brilliant.

  • "I would consider flook a departure from what is usually considered "Traditional". But regardless I think they're brilliant."

Interesting.. I somehow posted the above message from my brother's account. This is the REAL me.

  • nice one

  • Oh wow, thank you so much for this! I love Flook!

  • Definately going to my favorites!
