Ya since rats eat snakes. You know comfortablynumb, people are so stupid. They think that because we feed our snakes rats and such, that we are cruel, or that our snakes are cold blooded killers. They are cold blooded I suppose... lol I think that these people fail to realize, by some lack of a firm grip on reality, that our animals need to eat. And that killing a rat/mouse/whatever, by constriction is how they do it.

I don't know about the poster's boa, but I have snakes and sometimes they chill with their head underwater for a couple minutes at a time, but mostly when they're taking a good long drink. If you're snake's terrarium doesn't have a water dish it definitely should. Big enough for them to coil up in. My snakes spend a surprising amount of time in the water.

Awesome boa and I (believe) a really sweet looking carpet python. There is nothing wrong with feeding live... and for those who don't like it.. I've got a ball python that only eats fresh kill... that means instead of the python killing the rat... I kill it... by banging it's head against a wall... so... If you don't like watching a snake kill for it's food... DON'T WATCH IT STUPID!

It's the cycle of life and death played out in front of us. It's not cruel to feed snakes live animals. No more cruel than when the butcher slaughters the cow, lamb, chicken, etc.for our sunday dinners. Nature is not cruel.

Some expert breeders on here will NEVER show live feedings ever even to their venemous collection. They say any snake will eat P/K if allowed to get hungry. How I came acros the video is completely irrelevant. The fact is that I did and I was deeply disturbed by it. Not so much by the nature of the snake itself but the fact you people would film the death of a living being whom had no fair chance at life, and watch it for your own sick enjoyment. Rats are very sweet animals. I understand that they are food for snakes, which is fine - thats nature, the snake needs to eat. Snakes arent bias, and are only doing what nature programmed them to do. But you could at least not be so violently cruel to the food before they die.
