  • The footage of the "landing" was filmed right here in Sydney at Obelisk Bay and features the soldiers from Liverpool Camp "acting" the landing and dressing up as Turks.

    Percy Smythe recorded the day in his diary - he was one of the soldiers that "acted" the part, while his two brothers Vern and Bert were at the actual landing in Gallipoli.
