@nexus1g Sorry friend, but the entire continental US airspace IS under radar controll. And most especially class 'C' airspace. And a transponder signal only works when it is being interrogated by radar, If the transponder fails or is turned off, the target still returns a primary paint. The altitude info and id is not presented with the paint, but they can still make out pretty much wheere it is. ALL of the airspace around the pentagon and downtown NY is either restricted or class C.
@corvusyt I'm sorry, but you're wrong. 1km agl has barely any coverage. and, yes, if a radar hits you, you're going to make a blip, but with the transponder off, tail #, alt, position, speed, etc. are not going to be reported. You're going to be a ghost blip.
@nexus1g I disagree, 1 km agl is just shy of 3500 feet, There are so many radar systems in the northeast that it is impossible to traverse the area without being under constant surveillance. There is the restricted airspace and the rest of it is class B airspace, which means that you cannot enter it without a functioning transponder. If anyone does, it is an immediate alert, Also, transponders don't report the tail no, of the aircraft, it replies with the squawk that is assigned by ATC
@nexus1g The squawk code is assigned to a flight no. (ie UA175). But you're right that the altitude won't be reported. The position will be given by the primary paint and the missing squawk will set off alarms. These aren't WW 2 radar systems we're talking about. And actually, the transponders are required in all A, B & C airspace. Also, the first thing a pilot does in the event of a hijacking is to set the transponder to 7600 then the bells and buzzer go off in earnest.

@nexus1g Sorry friend, but the entire continental US airspace IS under radar controll. And most especially class 'C' airspace. And a transponder signal only works when it is being interrogated by radar, If the transponder fails or is turned off, the target still returns a primary paint. The altitude info and id is not presented with the paint, but they can still make out pretty much wheere it is. ALL of the airspace around the pentagon and downtown NY is either restricted or class C.

@nexus1g I disagree, 1 km agl is just shy of 3500 feet, There are so many radar systems in the northeast that it is impossible to traverse the area without being under constant surveillance. There is the restricted airspace and the rest of it is class B airspace, which means that you cannot enter it without a functioning transponder. If anyone does, it is an immediate alert, Also, transponders don't report the tail no, of the aircraft, it replies with the squawk that is assigned by ATC

@nexus1g The squawk code is assigned to a flight no. (ie UA175). But you're right that the altitude won't be reported. The position will be given by the primary paint and the missing squawk will set off alarms. These aren't WW 2 radar systems we're talking about. And actually, the transponders are required in all A, B & C airspace. Also, the first thing a pilot does in the event of a hijacking is to set the transponder to 7600 then the bells and buzzer go off in earnest.

The games sound similar to the 1985 beginning Splatball paint ball warehouses & outdoors sports that popped up locally in Buffalo. Excellent playing was being done & new courses everywhere. Fun. IN one of our games, we had 25 people on each side playing in a large warehouse.
I did happen to see al qaida 6 & then I did happen to see a guy go by with a missile launching tube (missile inside) & I had to find out what it was & then another guy went by with a dusted/like dirt on it..mach gun7/01

Yes. they could have granted information to me due to the Polish side being fighters against communism. Very proud grandmother/uncles/aunts etc. Those that were Polish & on the other side, the same for those that were Polish. They ran from their home country of Poland prior to WWI and WWII and for the one couple it was like someone "big" had been chasing them out of Warsaw Poland. AND that was the other side of my family & not known to be Polish; but they think we're Irish due to changed.
