  • I would love to know what her IQ was - I bet it was *HIGH*

  • @MicheleBell1

Ooooh....I love the last picture of Judy on this video...Somebody give me the link! It's a rare treat to see her looking so "natural."

  • makes me sad

  • i wish i could go back in time and see her perform live. she would have been magnificent, and she was always so respectful to her audiences

  • Judy Garland was wonderful & yes like she said her life was a roller coaster but for her fans she was always the top of the top she was simply the best no matter if she sounded different than when she was in her 20's or if she was skinny or not she was a true talent & a true artist & most importantly she loved her fans. & that's why we still love her. I was born in 1985 & I wish I had met her & I think we all wish we could had helped her with her pills addiction that MGM did to her. She is miss

  • these are marvolis pictures very nice

  • Hey, thanks so much for posting this, and a nice montage of clips/images behind this interview! "The Clock" is a very underrated film, but it's been gaining more stature recently. I loved the interview as well - Judy was such a great raconteur along with all of her other talents. But jeez, there are a lot of drama queens lurking around here!

  • There are a lot of sad things here, playing the usual victim card, but the saddest are Judy's claim to have homes in NY and London; Deans had rented- with a roommate- an apartment in New York, and their rented home in London was the most modest of her life, and that includes her childhood. When asked what she does when not working, she claims to "make hats." No, she was not a milliner, she didn't make hats, but sadly, had few hobbies she could speak of.

  • I'm disgusted to find out that MGM forced Judy Garland to abort her first child, a child that she really wanted. Absolutely disgusting. I'll never buy or pay to see another MGM movie again.

  • @lesliedbruce

i didnt know that! i know they put her on drugs - the guy with initials LM i can't remember his name - put her on drugs ~(uppers) to enable her to have more energy and downers to go to sleep again - sheer child abuse - her mother was a bitch and so was that Hollywood man LM -i cant remember his name

  • i love this vid it is great thank u for putting it up but one ? do u happen to know when this was done thank u soo much :D

  • i loved judy garland! she was beautiful! i loved wizard of oz. :))))))))

  • Well its wonderful that she felt so sure and happy as a wedded wife with Mr Deans and seems so proud of that fact. Its wonderful that she achieved that personal happiness before she so tragically died at such a young age. xx

  • her celebration is that millions of people continue to become her fans & that really is the greatest aspect to her talent and what she was about that is her being an entertainer & one of the greatest ever .... she worked hard for that ....

  • When this was recorded?

  • Love her comment about her "comebacks" --- "I've never been away!"

  • What an incredible talent, and what a sad story her life was.

  • It's really sad that only a few months later judy would pass on but its nice to hear her so happy even if it was only for a short time. RIP Judy you will always be the greatest entertainer of all time

  • Oh my ...

  • i love this interview judy was such a beautiful person inside and out! i wish she was still here

  • do u no how she died and how old she was wen she did die?

  • @AVGN97 accidental drug overdose at age 47

  • I enjoyed this immensely.

    -------Ellen

  • Very, very fascinating...thanks Michele! :)

  • It's lonely and cold at the top. Poor Judy. What a tragedy.

  • Are we winning the war on Drugs? NO!

  • At least she was this happy at the time that she died. It's still tragic, but at least she went out smiling.

  • JUDY, what a STAR!! you will always live on in hearts despite the controversy, such a wonderfull talent., gutsy strong woman, mismanaged & tragic end, but we will always love you!!!

  • The fact that Judy didn't win the Oscar for her performance in A Star Is Born, was and is still the Greatest Blunder in Academy Award History !! Screw the Academy for their failue to see her Greatness in that movie...What a natural Actor and highly underrated ...RIP Judy..xo

  • I agree

Even if she hadnt been the greatest singer of the 20th Century she could have made it as an actress quite easily

comedy tragedy drama longing she could do the lot her dramatic range was amazing

still being such a great talent its very wrong that the Academy never got their act together to acknowledge her genius

but how long can we stay mad for!

I like to think the fact that people flocked to her concerts and made her break box office records all her life made up for it

  • Amen

  • @PeaceFan1 - the oscars is bull anyway, it's all a marketing scam

  • It's so heartbreaking that a woman who was once billed as, "The World's Greatest Entertainer" met such a tragic end.

I can certainly say this for Judy, She will NEVER be forgotten--ever. It's true, they do play The Wizard of Oz every year on tv, and that film alone has permanently etched a place for her in our collective hearts.

    RIP sweetheart <3

  • LOL it much be weird seeing Judy in a supermarket in Denmark like fx.

Fakta, Netto and so on .. XD

I wouldent be able to believe my eyes!

  • tis so sad that Judy Garland who was so talented at a young age she was given "diet Pills" i think she had a sad childhood she was always working May Judy Garland Rest In Peace she gave us all so many wonderfull Songs and Movies

  • She talks that way, Maddie, for two reasons. 1: in the Wizard of Oz she was much younger... and 2: I'm sure that she was probably drugged up a little in this interview. I LOVE Judy Garland. She is my all time favorite actress. But she had problems that affected her like that. Drugs, alcohol, cigarettes.... THAT is why she sounds that way. And Helena, I agree, I wish I had been born earlier so I could see her in concert. But I was born in 1984 so missed out on that extreme talent too... :-(

  • why does she talk like that she sounded alot better in the wizard of oz movie and her singing now is squeaky but i feel sorry for her.

  • there are a few things that come to mind first the microphone will alter your voice as here the amplification of some words is the result of the microphone. also, Judy was a belter so her voice was a little raspy, and also if she smoked or if it was cold weather that would affect her voice, and finally, if she was drinking or on medication that could affect, also if she had an allergy. you can't expect a woman in her 40's to sound like a 16 year old girl as she was in the Wizard of Oz.

  • This is so weird, I live in Denmark and I can tell so clearly that it`s a Dane who interviews her, so clearly!

I wish I was born earlier so I could had gone to the Judy concert in Copenhagen 1969! But I was born 1992

  • Its so funny you say that because I'm on exchange in Denmark and I could tell that he was Danish too :) I also think its really random that the interview is for Danish Radio because I couldn't find anything on Youtube from Denmark before I came, and now I was just searching for Judy Garland and this came up and its Danish :D ahahaha.

  • Okay :D

  • its really sad shes dead

  • Love this Video / wonderful Pics. M♥ thanks to u Michelle + ♥♥♥♥♥

    Mario

  • very revealing that when he asked her 'do you think you've had a rich life'

he intended to get her talking about Hollywood and all the stars she worked with or her experiences at her amazing live concerts

And she jusy flatly and without thinking said 'no'

this is followed by a rather shocked silence

  • This is an interesting perspective on a possible direction the interviewer intended ... It could very well be the reason Judy answered the way she did. It was not in her nature to follow that lead. Thank you for the astute observation.

  • @MicheleBell1 Yes, probably true. It seems she was good at deflecting the gossipy inquiry as I believe she did in the Johnny Carson interview too. Thank you for these treasures, MicheleBelle1.

  • @grai

I find it odd that no one comments to the fact that this was a severely depressed, drug/alcohol/nicotine addicted woman who was abused and taken advantage of for her entire life, by her parents and the hollywood machine.

    What a total shame.

  • i love this! hearing judy talk makes her so real!!! thanks for posting this!! :)

  • Judy--Marvelous to the end; self-deprecating and insightful...eloquent. Deans? She was ill when she married him; it is clear that she's ill here (at the end of her life). Her judgment was impaired, and I think that anyone who questions the severe impairment of her judgment is naive. Her insistence that "only now" (with Deans) has her incredible life had any "meaning" is an ill statement. Clearly. Hope had become desperation, for her. The man was not her savior. Her other insights are grand.

  • Judy always spoke in absolutes during the 'honeymoon' period of a relationship/marriage. Her commitment was always total, complete. She had an 'inability' to hold anything back. This was true in her work & love.

Do I think her life had no meanig before Mickey? NO

Do I think they loved each other? YES

Do I think they both knew she was dieing?

    YES

Will I assess his motives? NO

For me, the only thing about Judy that is well documented is what she said, in her own eloquent words.

  • This was really interesting, I've only heard bits and pieces of this interview before. Judy sounds alert and coherent here, and in good spirits....I think she really loved Mickey Deans. Her speaking voice sounds a little raspy, far more mature than one would expect a relatively young woman of 46 to sound - but this was a nice treat for me to see--and I thought I had heard and seen everything on Judy -

    THANK YOU for posting!

  • I have to stand in the middle about Mickey Deans. At heart, I'm a peacemaker. ... Some words over the years have been unflattering ... & I give the respect that should be given for those expressions - perhaps there are reasons. However, not many people have stood up to give this LOVE between Mickey & Judy a voice. Who am I to judge? Judy says she loves, Mickey says he loves ... What more is there to understand?

That's the respect I give to both of them.

  • I've followed Judy for many years and understand what you said about Mickey Deans' reputation. And you have stated my own view of their relationship perfectly. Maybe there are facts that I'm unaware of that would change my opinion. But I've yet to come across any. Thank you for posting this wonderful interview.

  • I enjoyed that a lot-Thanks!

  • Wonderful! Check out my Channel ... there's more. Thanks for watching!

  • Finally an interview that shows Judy as a warm , smart, sweet, and funny human being!

I wish i had been able to see her live in concert,i was just 4 when she left us.

    Thanks for this post!

  • You describe Judy perfectly ... this is the Judy the world needs to know about. Thanks for seeing her for who she really was.

  • This was a Beautiful collection of images of Judy!

The interview , I had never heard before and really

enjoyed your whole production here! The Clock is

one of her best works! Thanks for making such a wonderful video! I will watch part two tomorrow...

  • Thank you.

The Clock has some of my favorite scenes! Vincent Minnelli had a way of bringing out the best of Judy on film.

  • this is great! judy really seems genrally happy :) what is the last clip at the end of the film of..

  • The clip is from 'The Clock'. It's a great movie ... not a musical. Outside her normal genre. It's wonderful to see her in this kind of role.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Wow this is such an interesting vid! thanks for uploading XxxxXxxx

  • the photos are beautiful and the interview is just great. Our darling Judy sounds happy and...... just great! thankyou for this great video.

Also, sad but lovely to see Judys very first home in Grand Rapids right at the start..... i wonder what would have happened if she had remained there.... i wonder what Judy would have thought about this.... many said it was a pity about Frank and his "problem".... well, i guess we'll just never know.

  • It was great hearing about JUDYS life....

on this radio broadcast from Denmark '69.

Thanks for posting this rare JUDY GARLAND interview with GREAT photos&videos 5STARS!

  • It is always a great pleasure to honor this Great Lady.
