i think malice mizer was better with gackto-sama. The reason gackt left malice mizer was the drummer died in an accident gackt was very close to him and was crushed. her even has a song he dedicated to him. Khala is a good replacement to the band but gackt is the one who realy made the band what it is. He did make illuminati one of very few songs to get band from japan air waves...so yes Khala is good and very great vocalist but he doesn't top gackt who has been singing since grade school.

Klaha is a far better singer in terms of range. Gackt would keel over and die trying to hit the climax of "Seinaru Toki Eien no Inori".

I like Gackt, but he just doesn't have those power metal/opera pipes that Klaha is packing. Don't get me wrong, Gackt is great at regular rock vocals.

Long story short: Bara no Seidou probably wouldn't sound as good with Gackt, and Merveilles probably wouldn't sound as good with Klaha.

malice mizer's three different eras is almost like three different bands. i love the klaha era and it will always be the definition of malice mizer in my eyes, no matter what anyone says. i like the dark operatic style. i know MM gained most of its fame while gackt was there, and i do like some of the gackt era MM songs, not because gackt was the singer, but because there were some good songs written and because kami was there. for me though, klaha era is the best and i wish it had been longer.

yes, it's a matter of taste who someone likes. i feel that klaha is often forgotten and doesn't get the respect he deserves because he has a completely different personality than gackt. klaha was great in malice mizer, and he's great solo, he is always just himself and doesn't try to be anything else, and i admire that very much. i just wish that MM had stayed together longer, because klaha's time there was so short.

I respect your opinion. I think I prefer him in MM too, but if he wants to change himself like this, I'll still buy the CD's because I appreciate the musicality of his performances. I'd still like Gackt if he starred in a flying circus too. All I really meant by my previous comment was that they went two different ways when they left MM. Wether that has anything to do with Klaha being diagnosed with a mental disorder or not, I know not. All I know is that he'll always be in my heart.

I know that it's wrong to compare Gackt and Klaha just because they were vocalists from the same band, but I can't help it. Gackt came out of Malice Mizer with a Greater-Than-Thou personality and his vocals reflect it--he really isn't that amazing. From what I've seen of him, Klaha has remained modest and humble, and his vocals reflect that. He's brilliant!!!! He's the kind of musical celebrity that inspires positive feedback. Not to mention he's as beautiful as his music. *sigh* wow.
