I'll add my two cents to the Wings version vs. the GNR version. This song has better flow, better singing, better guitar-playing, better .... You get the idea. I could not even finish hearing the GNR version, it was so choppy and raspy-voiced. Maybe it's a generational thing. This is my favorite Bond theme that has singing .... I like the OHMSS instrumental theme even more.

Oookay settling this forever. Paul McCartney was commissioned to write this for the 1973 movie Live and Let Die. He performed it with WINGS, for anyone who thinks it was the Beatles they broke up in '70. Guns N' Roses wasn't even a band until the mid-80's, this is like a song from their childhood basically. But I know I'm freak, I know a lot about the Beatles and Paul McCartney!! =D The GNR version is awesome too but it's a totally different era. It's why it sounds so different!
