OK one last thing as I watch again, Sting had a real pet peeve w Stewart. That was his tendency to speed up. This drove Sting crazy. And it happens here, nothing egregious but noticable. And you can see Sting's reaction towards the band and watch Andy's leg trying to keep time at the end of the solo.
As a drummer I of course love Copeland. His dedication to his instrument and this band can clearly be seen here in this vid. Sting milks it a bit walking around the stage during Andy's solo pointing and being "the star".
The Police were the first band I ever shelled out money for. Bought the albums, scoured record stores for singles to get B sides.
My girlfriend asked me why I didn't to shell out for tickets to the reunion concert and I told her Sting would wanker the songs up. All the original energy is sucked right out. Might as well have seen a Sting solo concert.
maybe im biased but stewart is the only guy that came back just as good as he was in his prime. sting changes the versions of the songs and andy's guitar playing is just ok
Ok please don't kill me, but I feel The Police should never have reformed like this, these perfomances are no-where near the passion or rawnes of there earlier shows. When bands reform they kill the magic, that's why I respect Paul Wellers decsion not to reform the Jam, he was right, it just ain't the same.
You probably ain't gonna belive me now but i was at that concert i think I was about 6 rows from the front and i even had a backstage pass to that concert you can all belive what you whan but it's true. :D
they are the greatest band.. i almost died when i went the the reunion tour because i never thought i would ever see them live cause i wasn't even born when they first started out.........best night of my entire life....
@oliviaofrome Same here! I was born in 1979 but thanks to my parents I grew up with their music! I only saw them live here on youtube, so when they came to Belgium I was lucky to get tickets to their concert: it was AWESOME!
Allthough in different genre, seeing Rush live made me wonder what this band would have done with modern gadgets if they were to begin now. I mean they were never shy to use modern technology. Otherwise I can't help the feeling this tour being the final The Police as a band would have deserved back in the 80's instead of the corrosion which parted their ways.
Been a Police fan since 1979 ( Outlandos D'Amour ) ---- Sting, Stewart and Andy not have aged well --- but seem to play better too ! Keep on Rockin' Police !!
And there isn't ONE little snot nose young band today who could outplay any of these guys. Stewart Copeland eats Travis Barker's fucking lunch for breakfast.
God-frickin-damn this audio person, such a crap mix. Worse than almost any i've ever heard! How does this happen??????????????????? I hope this wasn't the mix going out to the house. No bass guitar..oh that's nice. No lead either, really. Pathetic.
this is The Police, they won't go around waiting for audio persons to be good: they have their own audio person traveling with them... to answer your question shortly: TV channel audio remix + Youtube video conversion... the results can vary a lot
Odd you say that, because I was about to give the guy props for looking so young at 56.
Newsflash for everyone (including me)

Imagine only a three men in a band that can perform live this way?! I really like this group from the start. Sting is a musical genius...Stewart Copeland a great drummer and soundtract/musical scorer of many movies..Andy Summers a guitar legend...AWESOME REGGAE ROCK MUSIC!!!

Coplend is great, but Neal Peart is God with drumsticks!!!!. I have to agree with humbledrumah, being a drumah myself, it's hard to figure out who's tops. I pick up so much technique from both of them. It's not stealing, drumming is a constant learning thing.
@ecapa0020 probably i'd agree with you but i like copeland's style. he is the most unique drummer in rock history i don't think anyone sounds anywhere close to him.
