what about passenger comfort? I love sport bikes, but i love to ride with my girl too, so i dont know which one is better, if a hayabusa (better for passenger) or a gsxr100 (better to ride)...
I didn't like this bike at first but it has grown on me and now I like it. I have an all black 08 gsxr 1000 and I wouldn't trade it for any other year. It was so hard finding it I don't think that I will ever get rid of it. To me suzuki is the best bike out, I owned a 07 zx10 before this one and it was a very fast bike but my gsxr in my opinion is a much better all around bike and it's so comfortable.
@Airforce21 Gixxer gives me the feedback ect... that I havent recieved from any of the superbikes. Honda has been the close. Just in the since of the overall machine. The zx10 hasnt quite got there yet. But the zx6 is an animal of a different kind.
Race set up, tires, damping, rearsets, braided brake lines And tbr snigle side slip-on exhaust. Has been the just of the work done to my 09 1000. On the street or the track, Its more of the rider. Rather than the bike. I love my gixxer!

all the mufflers on the k9 bikes r ugly i mean can u name a good lookin stock muffler? the r1 comes close but is still fuckin hideous. i just love the dual pipes i think its badass. this is definitely gnna b my next purchase. i was leanin more to the fireblade but thers just somethin about this bike

Suzuki keep producing the same old same old. Sure it's got engine upgrades and shorter stroke, but not really out of the box improvement on any of the older models. Personally think the 09 R1 is far and away the best litre sportsbike currently on the market (maybe the 1098 of course).
The r1 is the BEST looking by far but the performance belongs to SUZUKI. Sure they may not change much from time to time but when you made it best back then it takes years for the competition to even get close. "Get a leg up on the competition" ya rookie!!!!

I love GSXRs but they have to get rid of the twin exhausts. I would not want anything over a K6 because of this reason. Someone at Suzuki needs to wake up. I know all about the emissions crap. THEY CAN STILL DO IT. SINGLE EXHAUST.
amazing how much the front and side fairings of the new GSXR look so much like the 08 honda cbr now. Kinda liked the fact that Suzuki all these year had its own looks. 1000 k5 is still looks better then all the 1000s that suzuki has come up w/ since then

I just bought a K5. Suzuki will have to get rid of the extra weight on the newer bikes to compete with the old K5. Honda managed it with the new Fireblade even with all the emissions removing hardware on the bike.
Its 'backing in' not lock up! Its first gear with clutch control to slow the rear wheel without locking it up, which makes it squeel but there is no loss of control. If it is locking up it would slide out and be dangerous.

i started on a gsxr600...not that dangerous...just depends how you ride it..if you ride like a fucking idiot then of course all bikes will be dangerous. You're absolutely right...but you'd be surprised. If you get a 1k and learn how to ride the piss out of it well...then get back on a 750 or a 600 and you'll own way more than you can imagine...
Yeah...so true about that too. Throttle control is the key when hauling ass with 1k's. 600/750's are a lot more forgiving in many aspects compared to litre ones.
But I still don't and no one should either recommend 1k for a first bike, if you just had your training wheels taken off.

the '09 R1 fucking amazing and will rape any gsxr, it got torque like a V2 at low rpm, and at high rpm its like the devil.

I love GSXRs but they have to get rid of the twin exhausts. I would not want anything over a K6 because of this reason. Someone at Suzuki needs to wake up. I know all about the emissions crap. THEY CAN STILL DO IT. SINGLE EXHAUST.

amazing how much the front and side fairings of the new GSXR look so much like the 08 honda cbr now. Kinda liked the fact that Suzuki all these year had its own looks. 1000 k5 is still looks better then all the 1000s that suzuki has come up w/ since then

I just bought a K5. Suzuki will have to get rid of the extra weight on the newer bikes to compete with the old K5. Honda managed it with the new Fireblade even with all the emissions removing hardware on the bike.

Its 'backing in' not lock up! Its first gear with clutch control to slow the rear wheel without locking it up, which makes it squeel but there is no loss of control. If it is locking up it would slide out and be dangerous.

Your gonna die with litre bike. Start from 125/250 and progress your way up. Even 600 can be VERY dangerous for a first bike, let alone a 1000....

i started on a gsxr600...not that dangerous...just depends how you ride it..if you ride like a fucking idiot then of course all bikes will be dangerous. I'm sorry but not EVERYONE in this world is a pussy like you. Do the MSF course and you will have the confidence to ride a 600. I know lots of people that started on a 1000cc, nothing wrong with that, just depends on your confidence level, soon as you aren't confident then thats when bad shit happens..

I started with 125 at 16 (only legal size at that time). Moved on to gsxr 600 at 18 and I still fuckin love it more than anything I've owned/own now. Now at 20 I still think there is no real reason to get a 1000. I love track riding more than anything else, and the rider matters there, not the bike (90% of the time).
Anyone who gets a 1k for first bike is a idiot. It's the reason for big accidents.

You're absolutely right...but you'd be surprised. If you get a 1k and learn how to ride the piss out of it well...then get back on a 750 or a 600 and you'll own way more than you can imagine...

Yeah...so true about that too. Throttle control is the key when hauling ass with 1k's. 600/750's are a lot more forgiving in many aspects compared to litre ones.
But I still don't and no one should either recommend 1k for a first bike, if you just had your training wheels taken off.
