Hello Paul, We (Isaiah) opened for Nite City in Tucson at Choo Choo's Friday and Sat. nights, then you and Jimmy came and jammed with us Sunday night, Ray was there, you 3 were the coolest in the band, we had a great time, you guys RAWKED! Tripp
I saw them live in NY in the 70's. Just awesome! Jim Morrison is a tough act to follow, but Noah was his own man and did a great job. He didn't try to be "Jim" he was just Noah and did a great job of it. Of course Ray was and is awesome! I saw him in NY and CA too, when he was doing the "The Whole Thing Started With Rock and Roll" and the "Golden Scarab."
I love this album but have never heard the second one. I always felt the singer was doing a watered-down version of Morrison but the band still had a good individual sound.
have the album and play it almost everyday. the 2nd and last nite city album
"golden days diamond nights" is also a great album. this band really needs the respect that it deserves. i say that ray should try a reunion with them. that first nite city album one of the best records i've ever heard!!!! TAKE OUT YOUR EYES!!!
Hey, guys get THIS. John Densmore wrote in his book, that after The Doors disbanded "Ray then started some Doors-copy band, called Nite City" What crap eh?
I find it somewhat funny that The Doors never had successful careers after Morrison, I mean yeah they made more records, but none of them were really big hits... I'm surprised.
actually i looked this up, cause i was looking through these old rolling stone magazines i was selling at the flea market today, and saw an article about this band....ray is cool....
@KOSMICKEN09 Haha thats funny, Ray is a really cool guy, just out of curiosity, that flea marke doesn't have a Vox or Gibson Organ or Rhodes Piano for sale in it does it?
if you download soulseek, the p2p program, nite city is available to download there. soulseek is convieniently the smallest sized p2p program with nearly everything ive ever needed on it.
Hey man, I've been out of the country for a while, I just came back and downloaded soulseek, but I cant find the Nite City's Albums.... can you connect tomorrow or something like that? I'd really apreciate it.
Heyy Funky, somebody... I've been trying to find the two Nite City's albums with no luck... its a extremely rare material, and excellent! Can somebody make a torrent or something? we could trade
@LaGuNalOvERs42 - Hi, I'm the guitarist from Nite City. I'd love to hear from your friends Dad. I believe his real name is Phil Crane, but at the time he was calling himself Noah James.
@PaulWarrenProject Fantastic LP Paul! Our whole little town was big, big on it back in 1976. That's because we were first major Doors believers for years. Nite City was just replete with great compositions that just all worked and had staying power. We totally loved it, but were sad to hear Noah had to leave the scene after one album. Are you in contact with any former members? You really need to get this LP onto CD!!! That would be most welcome.
@PaulWarrenProject Mr. Warren, think this band is great, I'm only 16 but i love this kind of music. I'd like to thank you guys in making this great band. :D
@PaulWarrenProject Because you played with Ray in Nite City I need to ask did any of NC's albums make the Billboard Albums Chart? According to All Music Guide they didn't but AMG isn't always accurate on their info. I just thought I'd ask someone who just might know.
I bought this album when it first came out. It wasn't the Doors, but given a few listens, I got hooked. Nice effort by Ray Manzarek and friends.
