He was once known as one of the greatest live singers in the industry, but in the 90's he started lip synching too much. But, make no mistake about it, he could still blow.

No, my comment is not in anyway ludicrous. Whenever a super mega star go on stage to perform, particularly singing, he /she really has to do it live. If for any reason beyond his/her control: technical or personal, he/she is unable to do it live, he/she should tell the audience in advance that the genesis of the situation. If not, what he/she did is tantamount to cheating.
I can see what you're trying to say. However, if that were the case, pretty much every single mega-star singer would be consdered a "cheater" because lip-synching is so prevalent. Singers do not want to overextend their voices. Their voice is their instrument; They can't go out and buy a new voice like they could a saxophone or a guitar.
Still, that didn't give "every mega-star singer' the right to act dishonestly publicly. hahaha... No, I didn't lose a shoe but that did happen to someone, didn't it? I was the short, little Peruvian girl towards the front of the stage. My costume was actually flown to the U.S. last minute all the way from Peru. I remember Mrs. Garcia announcing it to everyone in the school's cafeteria once... kinda embarrassing for a young kid. I was one of the lucky few who had a close-up shot when we went to the Kennedy Center to sing for Paul Newman and his wife. Man, those were FUN times! :)

There is no question that Michael had a quality that was very different. I think this is what cause a lot of people to be ready to believe things about him that I don't believe ever happened. I think he wanted to be Peter Pan so bad because his own childhood was an absolute horror and unfortunately, he just didn't quite know how to pull it off without it seeming 'creepy' and making a lot of very provincial people suspicious. Honestly, I'm happy that Michael Jackson lip synced this performance. HELLO, THIS INAUGURATION IS FOR BILL CLINTON! Last time, I thought of Bill, I knew him as an asshole who cheated on his wife. His cheating ass should even be lucky to have KING OF POP, MICHAEL JACKSON AND FIRST LADY OF SOUL, ARETHA FRANKLIN to even be there for him. What Michael did was wrong. In a country like America, no one is forced to attending the inauguration of the newly elected president. But if anyone did deign to show up at the event, that means he/she agrees the man being celebrated is the one that totally represent the whole country to the world, for better or for worse and that 's the name of the game.

How am I smearing his memory? I admit that he lip synced but he didn't do it in all of his performances. FYI he's the Most Successful Artist of all Time, King of Pop, Rock, Soul and the Greatest Entertainer of all Time. If Elvis Presley who is just the "King of Rock N Roll" or just the "King" can be remembered, why can't people do the same for Michael who revolutionized the music industry by reinventing pop music? Presley was dead for more than thirty-two years and he's still being remembered by affection and fondness. People born after his death revel in the sphere that is "The KING". Do you know why? No, my comment is not in anyway ludicrous. Whenever a super mega star go on stage to perform, particularly singing, he /she really has to do it live. If for any reason beyond his/her control: technical or personal, he/she is unable to do it live, he/she should tell the audience in advance that the genesis of the situation. If not, what he/she did is tantamount to cheating.

I can see what you're trying to say. However, if that were the case, pretty much every single mega-star singer would be consdered a "cheater" because lip-synching is so prevalent. Singers do not want to overextend their voices. Their voice is their instrument; They can't go out and buy a new voice like they could a saxophone or a guitar.

Sometimes they have to make decision: which is more important, artistic integrity or an paranoiac excessive fear about the state of their vocal health. And we are talking about a singer, then a mere thirty -five, whose on stage performance had been few and far between since the release of THRILLER, so the likelihood of his voice being ruined after just a couple of songs is preposterous.

haha.. I was one of the kids in the video. couple clarifications. No, we were not underprivileged, they just picked our choir because we sounded good. He wasn't lip syncing, you can tell that just by watching the video.

hahaha... No, I didn't lose a shoe but that did happen to someone, didn't it? I was the short, little Peruvian girl towards the front of the stage. My costume was actually flown to the U.S. last minute all the way from Peru. I remember Mrs. Garcia announcing it to everyone in the school's cafeteria once... kinda embarrassing for a young kid. I was one of the lucky few who had a close-up shot when we went to the Kennedy Center to sing for Paul Newman and his wife. Man, those were FUN times! :)

There is no question that Michael had a quality that was very different. I think this is what cause a lot of people to be ready to believe things about him that I don't believe ever happened. I think he wanted to be Peter Pan so bad because his own childhood was an absolute horror and unfortunately, he just didn't quite know how to pull it off without it seeming 'creepy' and making a lot of very provincial people suspicious.
