  • learned this the hard way!

  • Great video, no bullshit, no talking, replace cabin air filter. case closed.

  • I have the 2005 model, which is the same thing. How often should these be changed and what is the significance?

    Great video and thank you.

  • on the newer model civic, 2009 mine is, you just push in on the sides of the glove compartment and it pops right on out

  • Thanks alooooooooooooooooot. I did myself and hats off to you. If possible make another video of replacing Timming belt and water pump (Honda Civic 2001 LXG)

  • @mumtazalam1969 Timing Belt... .Good luck on that one. Water pump is easy as pie.

  • yo, i put my bowl in the air vent because it was able to come out. but it somehow made its way further into the tube and i had no idea how to get it out.. and every time i put my ac on it reeks. how could i remove the air tube?

  • took me 2 minutes to do the job and 20 bucks!!! very easy!!! Thanx!!!

  • god i miss my corolla, all i had top do was squeeze the sides and the compartment would pop open.

  • There is a reusable/washable performance air filter from K&N.

  • This and the central panel video are life savers!

  • this video helped me alot thanks

  • Thanks for the video man, I have been looking for ways to open my compartment to change the air filter, for some reason is different from other car right ?

Do you think that changing the air filter will actually saving your mileage ?

  • man im deaf!!

  • this is great...was just at Jiffy Lube, and wanted to charge me $50 each to do this.

  • awesome thank you! because i wasn't getting ready to pay $80 to the dealer ship

  • thank you for a helpful vid

  • i bought some on ebay. they're pretty cheap

  • is this the same for a 2000 model?

  • Thank you for posting this. Very helpful.

  • where did u buy the filters

  • @WhereyaooAT i bought some at advance auto parts online ..

  • Thanks for posting this video. It helped me out a lot in changing the filter.

  • Can you wash and reuse your old filters?

  • @carven2004eca You could probably vacuum them, but if you are going to wash them...you may want to have a backup filter just in case they don't dry properly.

If anyone has tried to wash them, please post!

  • where can you buy new filters?

  • @gunigugu1991 I think I bought these from Auto Zone, but you should be able to get them from any auto store.

  • @tagisatube i see, so just walk in and ask for "2001 civic cabin air filter"?

  • @gunigugu1991 Pretty much...they should have all the part numbers in the computer. You could call them first to save a trip in case they don't have it. If they don't, you can get them online. I just did a quick Yahoo search and came up with this part number: H420101

  • @tagisatube cool thanks

  • @gunigugu1991 No problem, good luck!

  • @tagisatube one more thing, do you know how to change the battery?

  • @gunigugu1991 Sorry, haven't had to do that one myself in this car...yet. I'm sure it's easy, just look for something like "Change 2001 Civic battery tutorial" on Yahoo or Google. Make sure that when you do disconnect the battery, that you have the stock deck code or your radio won't work anymore!

  • Does a 2000 Honda civic have this same filter?

  • @FloridaRaider I don't know if the 2000 does. Maybe someone with a Chilton manual can look it up.

  • thanks for the video and for not talking in it. LOL

  • What the F....K?? Ive been driving my Honda Civic LX 02 for 7 years and never knew this S....t, what the hell is Cabin filter? what kind of job does it do? and why I need to change it?

    But thanks great video :)

    please reply somebody!!!

  • @isurfu2ube Clogged or dirty cabin air filters can significantly reduce airflow from the cabin vents, as well as introduce allergens into the cabin air stream

  • @isurfu2ube It cleans the air that comes into the car through the vents. I had my car a couple of years before I read a manual and found this out! If you take your car to Jiffy Lube, they automatically empty your glove box and pull it out to show you. I had them put a note on my account saying not to check it.

  • Just remember to check the airflow direction like he did in the video

  • i even dont know that their is also a filtr! ! !! ! thanks man!

  • Great job! Thank you so much!!!

  • Thanks for the video!!! Really helpfull!!!

  • $75 to change an air filter at dealer shop?

    wtf?

good job,, this will save people a lot of money during the hard economic time.

    thank you for sharing.

  • wow thanks! i just realized where the 2nd filter is!

  • after watching this video, i looked in my 2002 Civic to see what condition my filters were and they have been removed by the previous owner, i'm left with just the black plastic frames. should i buy some new ones ? what's the worst that can happen ?

  • @asifineededaname at the very least you could be inhaling the stuff that the filter filters out, to me that is enough to change it

  • Big thanks! You saved me $40.00+.

  • thanks for the video, saved me $20 bucks

  • It's me again, after watching your video once, I bought the cabin filter at a local auto store, and was able to change them in less than 10 minutes. I thank you for the bottom of my heart. Made me feel very empowered! :-)

  • Thank you so much for this video, you saved me a lot of money!
