The V2 served the German, US, Soviet, and Chinese military missile forces and it and its GERMAN inventors were responsible for humanities first big leap into modern rocketry and this into space. To deny this is to smoke crack out of a monkey's ass.
since america is the most important thing in the universe... and winning the space race was the most important thing in america....that means that von braun was the smartest person in the universe at the time to win the space race (this is american FACT)
i.e. NO AMERICAN WAS CONSIDERED SMART ENOUGH (opinion of the smartest ppl and leaders of america)
do u actually think u r smarter than all the scientists, and pentagon and washington leaders that thought a nazi was the BEST MAN TO LEAD THE SPACE RACE....THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO USA AT THE TIME?
fact - the top americans thought that it was a better idea to let a nazi be the leader than a fellow american (lol, technically von braun did become an american)
the space race was too important for usa to let an amercan lead
at least they were smart enough to let von braun be the leader (he was the top nazi scientist to the ignorant american)
think about it.....space race was the most important thing at the time
the smartest americans (nasa, and army/pentagon and washington) thought that the best way to win the space race was to let a nazi lead it....think about it
think about it.......american leaders thought that americans were NOT GOOD ENOUGH
the nazis wer the first 2 launch a human made object into sub orbital space, meaning, it left the planet, but was not able to make 1 full rotation before re entering, and this object was the v2 missile... after ww2, america stole alot of nazi rocket scientists who eventually would help them build the rockets that got man to the moon
@101andrewj That's a little simplistic. The only really new things the Germans did in the V-2 was its guidance system, and even that gyroscopic guidance was an incremental improvement over free-gyro guidance built by Sperry for torpedos and airplane autopilots. It wasn't like the US or the USSR needed German ubermensch, or they didn't understand rockets until Germans explained it.
@DonPMitchell ok then, explain this... how come over 50% of the people workin on the american moon missions wer non american, and how come the DIRECTOR of the saturn 5 program, was a former nazi rocket scientist, who was known for using jew slave labour, and committing war crimes.. how come nearly 80% of german scientists wer "snatched" and took 2 USA after ww2, its because america didnt want the russians gettin them, so they pardoned all there crimes, and offered them homes in the USA
@toolbaggers yeah, americans wer shitheads, but the indian genocides happened in the 19th century, not the 20th... and that makes a big difference when you think about it, the american genocide happened when most of their people couldnt read and they wer riding around on horses and shit... the german genocide happened when they wer the technological leader of the world, and launching rockets into space... such a intelligent and civilized country committing a genocide is much much worse
@toolbaggers im not american so everything you sayd is void, so try again, this time pull your head out of your ass and figure out what your talking about
@toolbaggers ..,you stupid dumbfuck, in the Americas by the time americans were commiting genocide the dutch, portugese, english, french, spanish were hundreds of years ahead in the genocide of american natives throughout south america, central america, carribean , and america. And made the americans look like amatuers by comparison in numbers, and efficiency.
..,europeans ass raped native americans hundreds of years before even america existed assclown. The Spanish in the 'New World' from the carribean to central america and south america. Portugal introduced slavery into the New World and the Dutch financed the slave trade to the 'New World'. Then you got the French and the English establishing a shit storm of genocide in North America and Canada.
@DonPMitchell well, in 1946 no country had done nearly as much research or work on rockets as germany, and that made them experts... im not sayin america or russia couldnt build them themselfs, but the germans were ahead of them
@toolbaggers Von Braun was never the head of NASA.
General Dornberger's book "V-2" is a good history -- he led the V-2 project, and Von Braun worked for him. There were no new principles in the V-2. What was unique about Germany was that they decided to spend the large amount of money it took to develop a large rocket. Dornberger is quite humble about this, and says in his introduction that any of the advanced nations could have done the same if they had the will.
@101andrewj Some went to the USSR, others surrendered to the US as part of Operation Paperclip. Either way, the V2 would have gotten nowhere without Robert Goddard inventing liquid fueled rockets in Massachusetts two decades earlier.
@joshatkins94 well then robert goddart can thank the chinese, for inventing the rocket.... you get my point... every new invention is owed to a previous invention
@101andrewj who gives a shit, assclown. Where do we get a refund for the the piece of shit space shuttle that periodically explodes upon liftoff or re-entry? The Cold War ended with the soviet union collapsing like a hobo on a hotpocket. No nazi fagtard technology involved. gtfoh nazi fagtard assclown.
Wonderful Pioneers!!! In 1950 my Swiss grandfather died in White Sands New Mexico, while performing these kinds of tests on the V2. He worked with Dr. Werner von Braun, and with Aerospace, performing the Operation Paperclip in 1945. His name was Henry Junod (R.I.P.)... The team provided the technical expertise for the V-2 missile program at White Sands Proving Ground (WSPG).
The cameras that two of the reporters are using could have been used in the rocket as well. WWII vintage Bell and Howell Eyemos are still used as crash test cameras. Built like tanks, they are.
Pure propaganda. sorry butt that was affol. the allies at the time was beginers at propaganda at that time, i seen many movies from ww2 and its no maginations there at all.
@electrique527 You're right! But, don't forget that profit-making intermediate step between Von Braun and nuclear warheads that Eisenhower warned us about, that is, the "military-industrial complex."
I guess that complex is now more profitable than ever considering all the wars, military bases throughout the world etc. that U.S. tax dollars are currently paying for. ... But, all very peaceful ... from a safe distance.
FWIW, I'd say sure. Ballistic missiles without nukes are a bit of a flop, and nobody's ever actually bothered to _use_ one _with_ a nuke (thank God).
Conversely, space based systems like SARSAT have easily saved more lives than the V-2 took.
If we're keeping score, I'd say ballistic missile's kill count might actually be negative if we're including launch vehicles (and there is a _lot_ of overlap.)
Another stolen piece of technology,we owe to the genius of Hitler's Reich
